I was in school when this movie came, it was biggest hit in whole Indian audience. And part 2 came when I was in junior college. And that time everyone used to say or ask one question, " Why did Kattappa kill Baahubali? " This question was a meme, a joke, a serious question everywhere, even on TV shows! People had to wait so long for the answer. And makers of Baahubali were so good in maintaining the suspense for that whole time. Not a single hint was leaked till the release of second part.

That’s how you create the perfect cliffhanger! A very strong first film that not only gave us an introduction to the conflict and built upon it but also was filled with striking visuals, amazing storytelling, music etc They knew part 2 was a guarantee and they put a bet on it. Well done! 👏

For those 2-3 years, “Why Katappa Killed Baahubali” was the national question, probably one of the best promotional line the makers got even without doing anything, and that hype perfectly set up the buzz for Baahubali 2. The hype was soo much that the makers included a hashtag #WKKB(Why Katappa Killed Baahubali) in the trailer of The Conclusion. And without a doubt Baahubali 2 became the biggest hit Indian Cinema has ever seen & by a huge margin(almost 3-4 times the previous biggest hit). That’s SS Rajamouli cinema for you.

The fact no one mentioned: 1.The language that has spoken by the kalakeya chief is created by the director's family member with 500 or 1500 words. 2. They also created a special song using this language. 3. When shiva is entering the kingdom he crosses (air, fire , water ,etc) this is the reference of lord shiva crossing 5 senses. @@OfficialMediaKnights Might I suggest that you watch Sardar Udham next? It is the best companion film to RRR. Won many awards in 2021, including for best actor. And it portrays real events during British rule of India, events from 1919 to 1945. It is unlike any other Indian movie: no dance numbers, nothing over the top, completely grounded and very well researched period piece. Almost a documentary. While in RRR, the British are portrayed as 1-dimensional villains, Sardar Udham presents a much more nuanced view of it. And yet, the evil of the British Empire is felt much more clearly in Sardar Udham than it is in RRR. So it is a great companion movie to RRR that shows the entire range of Indian cinema when trying to portray similar topic of British Colonial rule of India.

I think Baahubali made the most buzz in Indian Cinema, even more than RRR I think the movies ,that I asure you, every indian has watched are Baahubali 1&2 I was 9 and I clearly remember each and every person in my school and coaching classes talking about it, even teachers Every guy in the streets was talking about it. You just appreciated the art, lore, understood the characters and their dynamics with each other. Nor were you guys weirded out by tradition or applied 21st century minset to historical content. Your reaction on Bahubali DID NOT DISAPPOINT AT ALL. Totally in love with your channel. Please always keep the same energy and interest in lores. Kattapa is basically Ned Stark of this universe bound by duties 😂 I think someone must have already explained it but still the reason Katappa didn't realize its Mahendra is because there was so much mud on his face which washed off by rain right as he was about to kill him. The story in the past is about Mahendra's father Amrendra. You're right when you say its the best flashback and quite new strategy (the tent one) used in war. I love that you guys appreciate Bhallaldev as villian and of course the women of this movie are on another level 😂 I can't wait for you guys to react to the conclusion cause its one of the best sequel/prequel.

I totally love that sort of carried away into fantasy... I watched it with my best friend and we were speechless... eventually I said "that was magical" about Hamsa Naava and it's also so important to the plot! Ties right back in because right afterward the tallest pole of the boat breaks off (is that the mast? I'm not a sailor) much like how right after Panchadara Bomma misunderstanding strikes. But after Hamsa Naava it shows how even a princess can get culture shocked by such a massive empire. It's also important that the matriarch had no idea one of her sons was going to fall in love like that and... anyway the misunderstandings are well scripted. Not sure if Hamsa Naava or Panchadara Bomma is my favorite music video.

The reaction is better in Hindi for most viewers i believe. Most of us know Hindi but only some know Telugu. So that worked out well.

I don’t know if guys noticed but SS Rajamouli was in both RRR and Bahubali. In this movie, the guy serving liquor where Bahu breaks all the smaller vases of liquor, and in RRR, at climax song, he appears.

Loving your reactions to this and RRR! You guys give great commentary on the visuals, storytelling and cinematography! Please do react to Part 2 of Baahubali. Imo it’s a lot better than Part 1 in terms of the story.

I had not watched much Telugu cinema by the time I had first seen this movie and I have to say, this and part two are some of my favorite movies. Which I think says a lot as a U.S. citizen. The CGI wasn't the best I've seen but the set pieces, the story, the music, the cinematography, everything about it was fantastic. Such an epic story and films. Something I can rewatch multiple times and I applaud everyone who worked on this movie because I can't find anything I can really criticize it on, especially given their budget compared to western filmmakers.

One thing i didnt like about this movie was how they set up Avantika to be a badass warrior and not your typical damsel in distress love interest but then ended up doing it that way anyway...i feel like there was no need for her to get injured and sit out her mission which she was ready to lay down her life for and give it to Shivu...what would have been better if the whole love scene/song didnt happen, instead after fighting with soldiers Shivu convinces her to prove his love by joining her on the mission and she lets him come on the mission...while travelling she sees the good in him and starts falling for him too..maybe portray that through a song...that way we could have given her more time to start liking him and she should have been there while fighting to rescue Devsena..that way both of them would be equally badass warriors instead of her getting sidelined

You know... You read my mind (Denise). I am so glad I'm not the only one that felt a little disappointed by her story and how it was developed. I was so enamored with her strength and resilience, I was dying to see more of it!! You are so right that it would have been amazing to see both Shivu and Avantika go on this mission together. It was her life goal - this meant everything to her, so it would have been so satisfying to see her continue to pursue that instead of getting sidelined! Two badass warriors is always better than one!
