That dang time eater always appears when I am on a shiv run. It is uncanny. Is it really random or is there a hidden code that says that he appears when you have either more than two blade dances or the wristblade? Sure feels like it...

Runs are seeded, so no there's no hidden mechanics at play. Just rerun any seed where you encounter Tim the time slug and you'll get him every time, or any seed where you don't get him and you won't see him. It's pure confirmation bias that tricks your brain into thinking otherwise.

I think a gold band relic that lets you marry two cards so they always get shuffled and drawn together in your first time through the deck would be cool. And one that lets you take all three cards on a reward screen once

Believe it or not, I'm happy to see a failed run. I see nothing but success from the top players, and it kinda makes you feel like you're worse than you really are. This game is hard at A20, and even the professionals lose to RNG, sometimes.
