Who doesn't love this guy simply doesn't love drumming. We have the same age, and I'm a bit jelous and amazed how far you went. You're just the biggest inspiration in Prog nowadays. At 25 years you're renewing a genre. Baard, keep it up, MONSTER!

It's amazing how such a complex drum pattern is going on over a basically 4/4 song... Extremely talented. It's the perfect example how an apparently simple timing could be used to make an incredibly complex track.

There's so much to say about this. The drum recording sounds amazing. I could just get lost in that first groove, it's so sweet. Then the ensuing monster tom passage that would make even Phil Collins jealous. Such power. Your playing, dynamics and arrangements set the bar pretty fkn high. Inspiring artistry.

i could be wrong, but it looks like a Recovery Effects ExMic! basically a new-old stock telephone receiver rewired for use as a microphone. they also make a preamp. you can do some cool & creative stuff with them! demo here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/maimf6mDd5eMZ5o it appears based on the positioning in this setup it's being used as a 'dirt mic.' some producers like to have a condenser mic smack in the middle of the kit to get a very saturated, compressed sound out of to blend in under all the cleaner close mics. kind of like the parallel compression techniques using smaller talkback mics by folks like Phil Collins. it can add a lot of character if used right!
