Great video but as an ex employee of MC Donald's for 8 years and a long term fryman at least in the restaurants I've worked at I can tell you the carton pinch was never encountered, in fact we had to top fry's up in the carton to cover the yellow stripes if they'd been stood there for a minute or so and you can't have them sit for longer than 6 min max that's a huge no no, alot of theses practicees I believe are done in super busy resteraunts with managers that don't care about the MC Donald's gold standard

I worked grocery for 20 or so years. Once upon a time, we were allowed to layout our salad racks according to our location and demand. The two stores I managed, I came up with this really nice layout of most expensive packaged salads on the top row, the most common/best bang for your buck salads on the two middle rows, and the basic/cheapest/mostly just chopped lettuce on the bottom. Did the same thing with the refrigerated salad dressings. All this in nice, wide, horizontal stretches. Not only did it keep the shelf looking GOOD through-out the day (because not everybody is going to reach up for the expensive goodies and most people won't bend down for the cheap stuff) but we also used to have MAD RUNS on the green salad/coleslaw that used to fill up the two middle shelves. We'd go through CASES of that in a day. Not only that, but it kept customer confusion at a minimum because you really only had to put up one price tag per shelf. Until the corporation stepped in. They mandated that we MUST FOLLOW and could not deviate from their salad layout and they decided to go AGAINST human nature and stack everything vertically and each item must have a price tag regardless of how many copies of each item are facing the customer. Well, not only did this make weekly price changes take longer, but it now confused the hell out of the customer and sales ground to a halt. Where we'd go through 6-8 cases of Green Salad and Coleslaw in a day.... we'd now barely move through 3-4. Apparently, that's "better". Of course then I nearly murdered one of the middle managers because I kept getting asked "Why are salad sales down and salad shrink through the roof?"

Milk & refrigeration is always located closest as practically possible to the storeroom. Milk and dairy is/should be stored as near to the back of the fridge as possible because it's the coldest part of the refrigerator, and that's obviously to ensure the greatest longevity of the product. I've never worked "in a store" or dairy, my knowledge is from being a rep for a major fresh/frozen/dry wholesaler. Whilst there's an art to how exactly retailers can basically steal your moolah, there are also many processes etc in place at the store's expense to ensure you're getting the best/freshest product possible.

You know when you walk into a store and say "that item was right here last week!" You're probably right. These "shelf placement" companies make money by selling location. They enforce that location by employing "reset teams". Another third party that walks into the grocery store to re-arrange product. Causing frustration for the customers and the grocery employees alike!

As a McDonald’s employee and Team Leader. Fry pinching? Bogus. The motto were’s given is, “Stuff ‘em, don’t fluff ‘em.” So when I’m filling a fry box and I’m half way down, I use the fry scoop to push the fries down to make room for more. Always stuff ‘em. HOWEVER, the drink thing? 80% true. The drink sizes aren’t *exactly* the same but the difference in sizes is minimal. Now all soft drinks (pop/iced tea) are $1.08 no matter what size you get, so it doesn’t matter. But, if you’re getting anything else, either get a small or a large. For example, hot coffee. If you fill a medium cup and our that into an empty large cup, the difference space between the liquid and the fill line is literally 1 cm. I measured. Not worth it.

@domoniquekennedy97273 жыл бұрын
As far as the fries go Mc D cooperate may not even know about the penny pinching. Like it might just be the store management trying to make their numbers look better. That's what happens at Arby's for the meat weight. Even though cooperate says for example that a classic roast beef should have 3 ounces of meat we are encouraged to do like 2.75 ounces so that the meat count numbers look better for our GMs bosses. So yeah the pinching the box thing could just be management covering their ass.

It's a very common lonnnggg standing practice. TRICKS the consumer MIND to a more favorable number. Focus groups (yes you heard me 😉) showed that ALOT OF PEOPLE are more inclined to $9.99 than a flat $10. I found that so crazy, ( .01 😜.. im just curious how much company marketing depts spend on that tidbit of trickery), but these studies go into depth with aspect from Erikson and Maslow thrown at you with just a sprinkle of Pavlov ( now that's hilarious). Quite interesting though... We humans are a complicated species...🤔 then I see a KZbin when one "Einstein " says with a mischievous gleam to their cohort, "dude, Hold my beer.." ...🤪🤭..... idk, is it me or can you already picture the look on the paramedic's face?? 🤪🤭🥸 Corporations somewhat do the same to part consumers from their loot..

The great Mickey D’s fry scam is no unfounded claim. I never worked for them but have notice they don’t put nearly half the amount of fries the container can hold. A simple call to corporate tells you how many ounces of fries you should be getting. Just ask them to weigh your fries, if they say they can’t, regardless of their reasons, they are deliberately cheating you! Back in the days of supersizing l routinely found the servings to be less than 1/2 of the weight set by corporate.

In arizona we have what's called the banana law, not sure of the legal name but basically it says if you advertise something for a specific thing or amount you have to honor the advertisement. This comes from a car dealership that advertised a vehicle for 10,000 bananas. A guy showed up with exactly that 10k of bananas, they wouldn't give him the car, he sued and won! Forcing the dealership to relinquish the vehicle in exchange for the bananas 🧐

Deceptive advertising is actually false advertising, if they advertise something and you pay for what is advertised then they actually have a duty to provide the service you have paid for based on their advertising, but unless enough people pay lawyers to attack this issue nothing will ever change in fact these companies will abuse this to the fullest extent until or if ever the public fight back on this issue

All around the big supermarkets, the weight or size of their own brands are reducing, BUT the price STAYS THE SAME ! As well, the weight or size of proprietary brands is slowly being reduced, BUT the price STAYS THE SAME ! Corn chips once were set at 200 gram packs, then 175 gram packs, then 170 gram packs ! You guessed it... the price per pack remained the same for the 170 g as for the former 200 g pack. That is a 15% reduction in weight or a 18% prive increase, which is WAY more than the consumer price index that allows for 'reasonable' price increases. Chocolate bars with form factor: 4 squares to a row were changed to 3 larger rectangles per row, so that everyone would consume MORE per serving and one would have to buy MORE so that friends and guests got the same number of pieces. Stocks of own brand tinned beetroot slices priced at AU$0.89 were removed from shelves for 3 months, forcing customers to not only buy the more expensive 'name' brands, but when the stocks of own brand beetroot slices returned in new colour tins of the SAME SIZE, the price had doubled. When questioned WHY the stocks of the AU$0.89 product were removed, the store management said it was because they were redesigning the packaging and buying the packaging from another supplier. Apparently the NEW and redesigning packaging cost the same as the old priced product. Go figure... what a rip off !!

I don't know if someone wrote this yet but when your filling your cup for soda alot of the soda machines combine water with the beverage you want , if look closely you can see the water fuse with the soda so just angle your cup on the side the soda comes out you may get your hand wet but idgaf I'm not paying for water and another quick one when you're going on the drive through make sure you tell them no ice because they fill it to the top so you'll get less soda
