Her musical ear is fantastic. She knows exactly when to belt it out, when to keep it in, when to be silent and when to sneer. It's more fluid than Nirvana's In Untero which this work reminds me. The same abstract-like vocals and music chords.

+ChrisDaGambler you could not be more wrong. if you want something like this...check out Skating Polly or a little more garage, check out Happy Fangs, more like Liz Phair/Pavement check out Speedy Ortiz, Like the Pixies? check out Charly Bliss and watch their live music. they are amazing. other bands with a 90's sound NO JOY (dream pop/ shoegaz) also Ringo Deathstarr. the joy formidable is one of dave grohls faves......theyre are tons of great bands with an older flavor to them. you just have to look. get Spotify. its the best.

Reading 1991 was my first festival experience, too and I've been there every year ever since. There have hardly been any all-girl bands performing there at all since this lot, Hole, L7 and the riot grrrl groups. Bring back chick rock!

On their "Live Through This" from 1994, Curt Cobain did some stuff musically, but he didn't do much writing, I think...

I agree Hole is on a totally different level. Hole is a revolving door of Svengali producers and outside musicians and songwriters, led by a frontwoman who can't sing or play guitar. BIT are a living breathing band, with badass musicians... Kat actually plays the fuck out of the guitar, bends it to her will. Courtney just drapes it over her shoulder while she has one leg propped on a monitor. Hole seems to exist now to pay Linda Perry's child support payments. KAT writes her own songs!
