This is an excellent explanation of strategy analysis. I enjoy how it draws the dots between knowing the existing situation and developing the change strategy! In today's fast-changing surroundings, it's crucial to prioritize risk reduction while dealing with unforeseen circumstances. Great work!

This breakdown of strategy analysis in Chapter 6 emphasizes how critical this phase is for laying the groundwork for everything else! I like how it goes from identifying the current condition to evaluating risks and establishing the future state. The idea that strategy varies based on whether the future is predictable or unknown is also intriguing-sometimes it's about planning, and other times it's about testing assumptions and managing risk. It's also fantastic how the analysis is directly related to ensuring business goals are met and the organization's future path. It makes perfect sense that strategy analysis is such an important aspect of business analysis! Thank you so much!

This explanation of strategy analysis really highlights its importance in shaping business decisions. I like how it connects defining the future state with managing risks as it makes everything clearer. But I’m wondering, how do you deal with situations where the future is uncertain? Looking forward to your thoughts. Thanks!

When the future state is uncertain, business analysts should focus on defining flexible, high-level objectives and prioritize adaptability in their approach. They can use techniques like scenario analysis, where multiple potential outcomes are explored, and incremental development, such as Agile methodologies, which allow for adjustments as more information becomes available. Engaging stakeholders in ongoing dialogue and validating assumptions continuously also helps navigate uncertainty while ensuring that the solution remains aligned with evolving business needs.

What does it mean to assess risks..? Is it at the project level or corporate level ..? I think..in order to assess risks we need more people to be involved & not just BA.. pls correct if I understood incorrectly
@thebadoc4 жыл бұрын
Hi, Sonia! Great question. Assessing and managing risk at the project level is generally the responsibility of the project manager. From the business analysis perspective, assessing risk focuses more on those risks related to a potential "solution" which would be a subset of the overall project risk. But you are correct. In either case, assessing project risk or solution risk should involve all relevant stakeholders.

The Business Analysis Doctor, LLC ..Yah, it also depends on the industry/type of project BA is involved? As IT BA deals risks related to Technology..but not sure about other industries..If you can mention some examples..really Appreciate.
