This is the best method I've found so far if you don't want to deal with the triangles at the end. When you are all done you just put on a border. Thank you for this. I just love it.

Was a great pattern to learn and you did a great job of teaching it. Made mine with Herschners worsted 8 baby yarn and 4 ply and a # 9.5 hook. Turned out 42 x 42 and is beautiful. Thanks

I don't really understand how to start the square decreases. I wish the tutorial had shown 1 or 2 rows of the decreasing side of the blanket. But thank you for this tutorial. It looks like a fun project, & I want to give it a try!

I made this wonderful blanket to donate to a charity shop at our local hospital for premature babies and parents who have lost babies. It hardly had time to be put on display before being snatched. Thank you I am in the process of making another.

You simply insert your hook into the top corner of the last square, not the bottom corner. Then you continue as usual - picking up stitches and building your square up.

pooja dave If you are making it for a baby - any soft yarn will work. I knitted a baby blanket for my nephew-in-law's new baby daugjter. I used Caron Simply Soft Baby yarn. The happy parents loved it. I think..
