It was an amazing time! People were more real. You had to be out there or be home. No computers, no cell phones..you had to drive to go find someone or you heard that so and so was there, so you drove there. you would hit a bunch of places each night. Music blaring, girls, cars, fun...ocassionaly drag race....the real kind....drive in movies too. But mostly when u got a date and wanted privacy. Lol Today is cool too, I do like the modern conveniences, but its different. But some of us older guys and gals still know how to cruise. Lol

I’m 69 yrs old. In 1972 I got married, joined the military and we had two boys in 73 & 74. I got out in 77 and went to work in manufacturing, pastry chef and finally as a 911 operator. I regret nothing and just about everything in my life. If I could go back I would. Those days were so great and I just didn’t realize it then.

That red van called "Wild Cherry" was found not too long ago, I think abandoned and rotting. It was pulled out and fully restored. I remember seeing a multi-part video on finding it, getting it out of wherever it was, and the restoration process. Awesomeness. Holy crap what an incredible time to be in our teens and twenties in that period. We had no clue how free and wonderful it was, and how much it would be missed.

Used to cruise up and down the Boulevard from Bob's Big Boy to Vanowen Street in my '66 Chevelle. Gas was cheap. I was a single guy at the time. Had a blast. Then it was gone.

Seeing this video brings back some very beautiful memories of fine days gone by. Some Friends and I White and Mexican would cruise Van Nuys Boulevard in our low riders on mainly Saturday nights in the early 80,s along with the hot rods and motorcycles. I guess I can say it was a neutral area, because we all cruised there together and everyone got along fine. (And that is how it is suppose to be). We never had any problems at all. The LAPD Officers would just tell US to behave ourselves and show some respect. And that is what we did. Oh. And all them beautiful Ladies up and down the Boulevard could make the sun shine bright at three o,clock in the morning. It has been many years now but I may have shot the breeze with some of the People in this video.Well I sure do miss Los Angeles and Van Nuys Boulevard. And lets not forget, Hollywood and Sunset Boulevard,s. Keep on cruising and God bless us all.

I worked the drive in kitchen at Bob's in Van Nuys and San Fernando 1963 and 1964. I built the Big Boys you guys ate in the drive in.

If B Moore builds it...they will come! In the mid 60's I remember going to that Bob's, frequently, for a family dinner, eating in the car! I was just a kid, but oogled all of the bright and shiny cool american cars that I saw there. I was in the back of our station wagon, with my family eating, and viewing the cars, oblivious at the time that there was cruising on Van Nuys Blvd. Great time! The Cal Fame orange juice plant was right next to the Bob's. Thanks for your contribution to building such an iconic Bob's!! In 1969 my uncle, when he was one of the VP's of Seaworld, picked the site of, and named Magic Mountain in Valencia, Calif. My hat logo is my uncle's hard-hat that I now have, with the original Magic Mountain logo on it that my cousin, Lon designed! My uncle was Eugene "Doc" Lemmon.

Great memories of listening to this song in my 68 GTO with my Pioneer 8-track, which I still have. I would close the gas station on Friday nights, I would pump 4 gallons of Sunoco 260, and two hours later tank was empty. Ah the summer of 1978.

Lights out & we sat in front of the bay doors watching our friends cruse by on Main Street & pull in to chat for a bit. The cruise scene in my hometown of Odessa Texas in the 70s and 80s looked so much like this. We had a blast in our cars, doing things that are not PC today. When I get together with old friends, we talk about it like it was this past weekend, not 40 years ago. We didn't know it then, but it really was the best time of our lives.

Reminds me of cruisin' in Sacramento, CA in the mid to late 80's. Every Friday and Saturday night during the summer. Such awesome times. Had a '71 Dodge Dart Swinger back in the day. Such awesome times with my friends. Killer memories. Their will never be times like that again. There were some wicked street machines out and about. After the cruise we would hit the midnight movies and watch Heavy Metal or The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Get home like at three in the morning. Damn I'd give anything to go back to those days and nights!

Cruised mid to late sixties. Guys rolling up," want to go to a party?" Yeah we shouted through our rolled down windows, Follow us! We would follow a few blocks and then ditch them. It was part of the scene. Always rolled into Bob's Big Boy for a vanilla coke and a burger. A well spent Friday evening.

I started at Monroe high in 1974 and Holmes for three years before that. Been watching these Valley video's lately and it really hurts to see them, very bitter-sweet. The longing I feel for the way it was compared to the shit hole that L.A. has turned into is almost too much. The Valley was a great place to grow up, we never had to worry about going anywhere like concerts, parties, whatever. No one was shooting each other or getting beaten by a mob of maniacs for no reason, and it was a cool thing to have a real job at 16. I'm glad enough of us are still around to remember. Anyone remember a drummer named Jack Trevino or a beautiful girl named Linda Coop who both graduated from Granada in 1978? It would be nice to find some old friends here.

Keep looking, don't give up! A month ago I visited a guy that I'd known since the 5th grade, and went to Patrick Henry, and Granada with. Saw him for the first time since 1975. He had been living in Arizona for 30 years! Went to his store in Cottonwood, Arizona. He is Jeff Bek (not THE Jeff Beck--one of the all time greatest guitarists!), but he enjoys the name association! It is so surreal to see someone again from that time, sure gave me alot of joy, and an instant connection, like I had Doc Brown's time machine!!!

I have lived in SFV from 1957 til we moved to Thousand Oaks, all the places I lived in the valley (Reseda Canoga Park, Van Nuys ) are all like the ghetto, so sad. I now live on the Southern Oregon Coast. 22,000 people in the entire county. The most scenic coastline and the wild rivers. Have to drive 150 miles for any major stores. The closest Walmart is in California 65 miles. Usually go to Coos Bay Or. 75 miles but now sales tax in Or. Not only is California becoming a place only the wealthy can afford to live or be on public assistance.

I remember Van Nuys Blvd like it was yesterday - Wednesday & Friday nights were the unofficial times to hit the streets. Muscle Cars, Sports Cars, Vans, Hot Rods, and people walking on the side walks. Always packed

Nice until the cops shut it down. If you passed by the same spot within a certain amount of time they would consider it cruising and give you a freaking ticket. Today there are events, but planned. That's ok too, but nothing like just coming out and doing what we did back in the day. We were out there just about every night, sometimes the last few to go home.

Is that how it is now? I was a teenager in the '80s, so sometimes I do wonder about what teenage life is like today. I don't have kids, so I really don't know. In my time, we were content hanging out on a backroad drinking beer and listening to music...enjoying the starlit nights and laughing ourselves silly.

Damn, my home turf from 1968 to 1972.Crusin the blvd in my red/white 55 chevy.Turning around at June ellens at one end and McDonalds at the other.Wow Wednesday night was club night, my club "Chevys of Southern Cal" .Friday and saturday night were race nights. Damn great memories. Now Im 70, retired and remembering the good old days.

Back in the day most every high school had a store or strip center parking lot you'd park and hang out in on Friday and Saturday night, you'd walk/cruise around and talk to your buddies and a few girls. Is it wrong to think hanging out in a parking lot were some of the best times of my life?

We showed respect back then, if there was a fight it was as fist fight not a gun fight. Mostly just to show our cars and our chick. Music was the best too! No gangsta rap crap! Low riders loved the oldies, 50s music. Mucle cars loved the who, zepplin, vanhalen etc. Good times babyyy!!
