As far as the "shaking the baby" scene goes...for one thing, Finster ISN'T a baby, and for another, by that point in the cartoon Bugs knew that.

I always loved the part where Bugs catches on to Finster, and especially the spanking when all his weapons fall to the floor.

I've always gotten a kick out of the detail of "Baby Buggsy" printed on the crib. Bugs kept his own crib from when he was a baby! With that in mind, and the fact that he had a playpen and toys around...maybe he always hoped to be a father?

You're obviously not aware of the movie "Little Man" (a film atrocity by the Wayans Brothers). There are scenes in there that look like direct steals from this cartoon.

Thanks, Trevor! This was one of my favorites! They used to show this quite a lot on Channel 5- uncensored. I don't think it's too bad for Finster being shaken up, especially when Bugs puts 2 and 2 together!

You saw it uncensored? I always saw it with that gun part cut (except when Nickelodeon aired it [which is odd, because you'd think they cut it]). I also remember seeing it with the alleged child abuse cut, but that was back when ABC's The Bugs Bunny and Tweety Show aired it. Now, the edited version I see is the one that used to air on Cartoon Network and now airs on Boomerang. Luckily, it's uncut and uncensored on one of the Looney Tunes Golden Collection DVDs.

PC or no PC, when Finster stabs himself in the ass with his own knife, to me, that is pure genius. I really hope that this PC culture hell we live in now will eventually die down and we can all start laughing at ourselves again. Where we can show things that are clearly absurd, like shaking a cartoon baby, and not get filled with righteous indignation. I'm a gay, left-handed Jew, and I want to be made fun of, as long as I get to make fun of you. Nothing wrong with that, as long as it's open season on EVERYONE. Don Rickles understood that. So did Lenny Bruce, Richard Pryor, George Carlin, Eddie Murphy and Dave Chappelle. Time to grow up, everyone. Your thin skin is starting to annoy me.

WNEW/WNYW and later WWOR in NYC did give this cartoon a fair amount of airplay in the 1980s. One of the best Looney Tune shorts ever.

Ok, Singapore 1932?? How the hell did Finster get there? USN has height requirements. Maybe he was a crew member on some tramp steamer? 🤔 BTW, I love the rich facial expressions on Jones' characters. The Grinch was a canvas for all those wonderful expressions including the trademark sidelong cutting of the eyes.
