Do you prewash the cotton batting?
@TheSewingRoomChannel Жыл бұрын
Hi Barbara. I don't recommend pre-washing cotton batting. It will not hold up on its own during the wash/dry cycles. Hope this helps. Thanks for washing, and happy sewing. 😍

I'm in the UK and not sure where to get the waterproof material
@TheSewingRoomChannel2 жыл бұрын
Hi Carolyn. Search on the internet. Have you looked on amazon.com? I hope you will be able to locate the waterproof material. Thanks for watching, and happy sewing. 😍
@fredawade91157 жыл бұрын
I would recommend using wonder clips rather than pinning at the folding lines and around the edges because the pin holes compromise the waterproof layer. The holes created by the pins will allow moisture to wick thru to the batting and outer layer. Also if sewers didn't want to make bias binding, they could use ready made bias binding, or leave the corners at right angles and use straight edge binding.

Can polyester batting be used in burp pads and changing diaper pads?
@marietteforget78046 жыл бұрын
Hi! I will use PUL as the water barrier. The PUL side of it should be on the upper side , right, in between the layers of fabrics. Thanks? I have never made such a changing mat and have never used PUL before. Thanks! 😎🌸
@Vanessa-wp1sp6 жыл бұрын
depends on ur preference here are some thing to think about to help if u have the pul on the top its wipe able but if the baby pees it will puddle and potentially get them soaked if u have a absorbent layer on top (wich is my fav) and the pul on the bottom or in the middle it wont be wipe able but it will absorb the pee and be soft on babys bum

With the inner waterproof lining, is this machine washable? And dryer friendly? Also I wasn’t able to find “quilted waterproof crib pad” at the fabric store, is it named something else? Or am I looking at the wrong places?
@TheSewingRoomChannel6 жыл бұрын
Hi Nancy. The product that I used in the video is "Shield" moisture and allergen barrier fabric. Look on the internet. You can probably buy it at Walmart. Happy sewing.

I just finished my first one and had a tough time with the binding on the corners. Wrinkled and didn't catch it the first time with the stitch in the ditch. Had to go back over it. Any suggestions? Liked the outcome other than the binding issue. I think the next one I am not going to round the corners.
@TheSewingRoomChannel7 жыл бұрын
Hi Karen. If the corners are not round, the binding is done differently. Watch this video and it explains in great detail how to do mitered corners with the binding. Happy sewing. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nmLLYq2GbZ51q7c
