@Evil Snail I strongly disagree with your characterizing a male giraffe as a rapist. That's ridiculous. This is nature's natural way of procreating. Males do not fight to the death to procreate. This is what bull giraffes do. They eat, fight for dominance and procreate. Bulls do not roam with females. They roam to females during mating season and leave again. They have no role in raising the calves. There are less than 40,000 giraffes in the wild. There are protected conservation reserves in Africa where they work very hard to increase the birth rates. The US captive management programs work very hard to insure there is no inbreeding by moving giraffes to different facilities so they will remain as they are in the wild. No, they cannot be introduced back to Africa. No one wants to the species to go extinct or our children will never have the delight of enjoying giraffes.

I know this video is old but I love, love, love giraffes. I’ve been to the zoo, but you can only stay so long. I have Getty, Gabby, Thomas, Adaline, and unnamed named small metal, jute cord, and three metal hand high or higher. Not that many but if it were not hot and I wasn’t afraid to travel I would go to this one place that has giraffes visit you. I would so love that.
