The Ronettes used to play Dino's up in Middletown, NY (a college town). Dino's was a pretty informal club and patrons could freely go backstage and see the various performers; unless their booking agent had a NO Visitation in their contract. Ronnie and the Ronettes allowed patrons back stage generally, but Ronnie would go behind closed doors in Vince Dino's office if she wanted to be alone. Ronnie was very petite, but she was a powerhouse personality, especially when she stepped on stage. We are missing you. Ronnie dear. R.I.P.

It is a good chance for me to listen to both of the song. I became to know that Ronettes' was the original by your posting, because it was 1969 when I met this song for the first time by Andy Kim. At that time, I was a junior in the university, now I am 72 old. When I was young, my country was so poor that we were unable to meet all the songs from mostly England and U.S.A. I prefer to Ronettes', but it is a pity that Ronettes' recording was poorer than Andy Kim's. By the way, this song reminds me of all the memories of my young period. Thanks for your posting !!!

Thanks for commenting...I'm 72 myself. What poor country are you from?

This stereo mix of Kim’s version is unique; never cared for the regular stereo mix; too echoey. This is more like the single. Cannot, cannot get enough of the guitars and the chicks on background. A keeper. 2:36

Interesting to see that the order of songwriters is not the same on each 45!

I think Phil Spector had little to do with writing this song and shouldn't even be credited but the first label is his and he always got what he wanted, I guess.

It was very common practice for label owners/producers to claim songwriting credits - ‘’if you want your song recorded we’re sharing the composer’s credits’’; sometimes even insisting the writers go through their own publishers. A dirty, dirty business.

Nothing against Andy Kim, but I would rather have heard the song by the Ronettes played twice.
