Memories that can nvr be erased. I met my future husband at a High School " sock hop " in 1969. I went home and told my parents I met the man I was going to marry..they just laughed. Six months later I married that man. We are still married. Thank you Marvin Gaye, thank you to the Originals for a song that crushed our hearts and gave a life time of memories. Fifty five years and still learning, loving and growing.

The young lady (Jackie Hicks) was one of The Andantes, another back-up group for Motown. The group sang background vocals on numerous Motown recordings, including songs by Martha Reeves & the Vandellas, the Temptations, Stevie Wonder, the Four Tops, Jimmy Ruffin, Edwin Starr, the Supremes, the Marvelettes, Marvin Gaye and the Isley Brothers, among others. It is estimated they appeared on 20,000 recordings.

I was a mailman in Los Angeles ,my first instructor believe it or not was Freddie Gorman ,what a nice man ,I came in late my first day and he was so cool ,He unfortunately was diagnosed with cancer and passed away two years later but he and his son cut a gospel tract ,I got one signed by him and his son ,I gave it to a friend for X Mas,RIP Freddie G .Cool man what a history !

I recall this song and group it was one of my favorites! One of the singers lived down the street from me in Detroit. The lyrics and vocals of this is amazing! I wish that music could sound like this again. When I think of R&B this is an example of what R&B music sounds like. Many singers and groups are listed as R&B and they are Pop. Can anyone name an R&B group today that has this kind of vocals and lyrics and not spewing hate. R&B music was about love, feeling sad and missing someone etc. I would like for someone to name someone today who is doing true R&B music.
