I am just curious if anyone else has done this. When we had our last little, we only told a handful of people the names we chose. We told them to randomly yell out of the names when we were around, like he was getting into trouble. We also would randomly scream the names. We quickly ruled out the whole second name that was chosen. I agree with Dakota naming a person is hard. I can't wait to see what his name will be!

Naming the baby “Diploma” 😂 I am also a boy mom, a 5 year old and an 8 month old. Our eldest is Nicholas Emmanuel and it’s very personal, my hubby’s name is Emmanuel so he was named after Daddy and even tho I have no relationship with my biological Dad, I did have a father figure, a family friend who saw me as one of his own and was so kind, he and his wife always treated me as part of their family, his name is Nicholas and I named my son after him. About 6 months ago I told him I named my son after him and I made him cry, he said that made him so happy he couldn’t express in words 🤍

Not that you care what a veteran teacher thinks, but please keep in mind that your child will have difficulties if you spell it strangely (hello, Utah, I am looking at you) or if it is TOO unique. Teachers/the world will pronounce it strangely until they get to know the child and if you violate phonics rules with the spelling of their name, it will mess up their understanding of the rules for a little while. Just my 2 cents (2 cents you absolutely don’t have to listen to! Lol)
