my mom was 25 and dad was 31 when they had me!! I was watching this on TV with my mom and she started telling me stories about her pregnancy, we were talking for about an hour. She said "they will be great and loving parents" and I a hundred percent AGREE!

My husband and I prayed every night of my pregnancy for a good, calm baby and that he would sleep through the night because I NEED sleep… he came out exactly what we prayed! Started sleeping through the night at 6 weeks and even now at 10 months, is a FANTASTIC sleeper and is the BEST baby in public! Moral of the story, start praying every day for a good sleeper!!

Coming from a mom of two, 2 and under, being a mom is the hardest and yet the most rewarding experience ever! My first delivery was with my son and it wasn't medicated (not by choice) and I had a natural delivery because I was fully dilated and my water had broke prior to arriving at the hospital. It was INTENSE for a first labor and delivery, but I survived! With my daughter, I barely made it in time, but had enough time to get the epidural, so I've experienced both. In my opinion, do you! Good luck mama, you guys are going to be amazing parents!

I had my 1st baby at a birth center and absolutely loved it!!! It made me going unmedicated easier not having the option for a epidural and I’m on set to do the same thing with this second baby. You can totally do it! Having a good support system makes the world of a difference as well

i specifically remember when brooklyn was leaving for college and saying her goodbyes to her siblings, paisley was crying and didn’t want brooklyn to leave. brooklyn hugged and held paisley and kept saying “don’t cry baby, don’t cry”, and i realized then how nurturing and motherly she was. 💜 crazy how time has flown

As someone who birthed 3 babies over 9 pounds without any medication stick to it! It's totally possible and worth it! But if you get to a point in labor that you feel you need it do it! You need to do what you feel is best for you and baby!

Brooklyn - also just want to congratulate you guys. I just had my first baby a month ago. I didn’t realize the lack of sleep I’d get but it gets better! Please consider how you’ll want to feed your baby if you’ll want to exclusively breast feed, formula, combo, pump, etc. I’m breast feeding and just FYI but it takes a huge toll on your body and the lack of sleep is something I didn’t know would be a thing. Babies eat every 2-3 hours in the beginning. So I would just think about that and if you want to do formula they can go longer stretches. However every family has different approaches to how they want their baby fed so just think about that :) good luck to you both!

Brooklyn you will be a great mom, but sleep will be so difficult! That was one of the hardest things for me to overcome too. Luckily my baby began sleeping through the night around 6 months (he’s 9 months now) but those first 6 months were soo hard and I was sooo sleep deprived. Having a supportive partner makes all the difference in the world so you will be okay :)

If it makes you feel any better Brooklyn, i had my daughter a year ago and she is the BEST sleeper, from the day we brought her home. I got 6 hour sleeps every night and by a month she was sleeping 8 hours! Even now she will sleep from 9pm-8am. It’s crazy how different all baby’s are, and I hope your little boy will be one that loves his sleep lol🤞🏼

I have given birth four times, and three times I chose to do a natural unmedicated birth. Those were by far my best labor and delivery experience. The pain was temporary and being able to just be myself after was so amazing/

I have a 4 month old and luckily he sleeps like a teenager! Sleeps 6+ hour stretches! I would suggest sleep shifts for both of you guys so you can both get some rest! You can’t pour from an empty cup! ❤

L&D RN here and I’ve personally had one medicated birth and one unmedicated. Both are amazing! Just make sure you do your research and prepare well for the unmedicated one. Birth is so cool and amazing though! Get excited, not nervous! 😃💪🏼

I will say my babies (2 and 1) go to bed at 9pm and sleep till 10 am. It’s not always like that don’t get me wrong but if you start early enough with “sleep training” it will definitely help. I say the “ “ cause it’s not really sleep training more so just having them be aware of their surroundings. As soon as we brought them home (new borns sleep all the time) so when they were sleeping during the day we would have the windows open or them in a bassinet in the living room with the tv on or music going in the background. Never quite! Then at night and night only we’d put them in the room with the blackout curtains and sound machine. So now as soon as the sound machine comes on for naps or bedtime they associate it with sleeping. Also talk to your pediatrician both my babies didn’t wake up for bottles every two hours they slept stretches of three or four and then would wake up. I let them do it for a while and then would feed when they woke up, but if they didn’t wake up I would not wake them up. Our pediatrician monitored their weight and as long as it kept going up he told me I did not need to wake them up! Also if your baby/babies (in the future) are not going to be good sleepers don’t let it get you down not all babies are. And you can start with all the timing and noise associations early but it may not help them with that. I just knew that sleep was important to me and there are things you can do to help both you and baby! You’re gonna be a great mom and congratulations!

Don’t worry I also love my sleep and it was only bad the first couple of weeks I definitely wasn’t myself without my sleep, but once my partner and I got a good system it was amazing! By 5 weeks we had a night routine and I got longer stretches which were life changing! By 10-12 weeks we were consistently getting 7-10 hour stretches! Routine is key, but don’t worry about it too much the first 8 weeks. It goes by so fast and before you know it you get your sleep again. I have a 1.5 year old now he was born in January of 23 and since he was 5.5 months old he has been giving me 11-13 hours of sleep every single night unless he is sick!!! You got this!! I promise it’s so worth it, it’s amazing and everything you are imagining it to be!!!!
