I like the mood she puts in her singing, it doesn't need to be over the top. It does give me that cabaret feeling, like i'm having a drink and suddenly this girl walks in and takes the mic with a story to tell and just breaks into song lol i like it :)

Honestly I like Ada. Her voice is so unique and really gives a different vibe from a lot of PMJ's other stuff. She doesn't have the same power as some of the other vocalists who perform on this channel but she still manages to distinguish herself with that accent.

@@bayareapianist still. she is not that powerfull with full control on the high , powerful notes, plus small small false notes on the sides, but she is good. I think you can be more playful on this song instead of dramatic.

Ada was perfect for this song. No one can tell me otherwise. The youthful sound of her voice and just everything. I see Britney Spears, had she been given the chance to perform with her true original voice. Ada turned this song into a whole new kind of masterpiece.

Honestly, Ada was perfect for the song- she gets across the desperation, longing, and pining of the original song. And her voice sounds very youthful, thus reinforcing the original teen vibe of the song. It honestly sounds like she actually is longing for a boy that she wants to be with. It almost sounds bitter- like she was mad at herself for letting him go and is longing for another chance as she watches from the sidelines. Plus I loved the violin part

I'm starting to get a bit sick of all the Haley fanboys and fangirls saying "this would be better with haley". Cut it out, people, PMJ has plenty of singers, all the singers have amazing talent, and Scott does what he wants, with whom he wants. You want to listen to Haley?? Go ACTUALLY HELP HER by buying her music in itunes, comenting and liking the videos in her channel, buying merch in her website, going to her shows if you are close, etc. Girl needs to eat, show actual support instead of constantly asking for free music sung by her.

Honestly people, stop saying that Haley/Morgan/etc. should sing every single song. We get that you all like them, and I'm a big fan myself, but one of the best things about PMJ is getting to see so many new and amazingly talented singers/musicians on a regular basis. A lot of the "original" PMJ singers are at the point where they're putting out their own content, along with PMJ video and tour appearances. Von releases original music. Haley releases original music. Morgan releases original music. Many other PMJ stars release original music and/or have their own KZbin channels. Go support them there as well instead of just waiting for them to stroll into PMJ manor for us. Jukeboxes weren't made to listen to the same singers over and over again. They were made to play the best songs by the best musicians that the industry has to offer, and that's exactly what Scott does to keep us coming back every week for a new and unique video. P.S. Idk what some of these comments, are talking about, Ada killed this cover!

Haley this, Haley that... I get it, Haley is my favourite singer too but c'mon! Can't you just appreciate someone else's great talent for once? Part of what makes PMJ is so great is that they are always changing their singers and band members- bringing new people in, showcasing new talents. There literally doesn't go a single video without someone going on and on about Haley. It seem some of you only like PMJ so long as she's involved

I've seen Haley fancraze even in videos with male singers! I'm not against suggesting something specific, but jeez have some respect. How would you like it if you did something and people went on and on about how someone else would have done it a million times better? And most of the time it's not even constructive criticism at all

She sings and plays the violin beautifully! Her voice has emotion, it’s just different than the way other singers express it. And her face has a lot of emotion when she sings and plays, so no, I don’t think she’s “cold” and “empty.”
@Cationna

This cover took all the emotional impact of the original song and reframed and polished it to sparkling gold. There's often a lot of pathos to seemingly casual pop dance music and I love what PMJ version did with this classic.

I assumed folks who follow PMJ were open minded and welcoming of new talent and unique musical interpretations of contemporary songs. Which is why I'm disappointed in some of the comments below. For myself, I think Ada is singing her heart out on this one, not to mention her beautiful playing. Also, I love how her performance re-interprets the intent of the lyric. Bravo Ms. Pasternak!

@KitsyX
@KitsyX 7 жыл бұрын
+Nonprophet You don't have to give blind approval to be open minded and treat each performance neutrally and on its own merits, no... You also don't have to blindly approve of something to not be overly critical of it too... I'm sure someone else could do it better, but that doesn't automatically make it bad, as much as anything on the channel isn't automatically great. Nothing is perfect, so perfection shouldn't be expected... Of course, if this was actually bad, feel free to complain... Although yeah, it's not like anything was paid for this by us, short of maybe 5 short minutes of time... We waste 5 minutes on way worse all the time... So I would argue that it's not worth complaining about much, especially if that's going to take up another 5 minutes possibly lol Sorry >_>; I went on a bit more than I meant to ^_^;;

I've got to say, there's something particularly nice about the covers of songs whose lyrics are relatively timeless. It lets me really imagine this would be what it would've been like for these songs to be released back then - it's a bit harder to do that when the classic jazz singer starts spouting out instagram selfie iphone hashtag. And the like.

Love it. It is quite a feat to make me listen to a Britney song without me wanting to rip my ears off. This version actually had me bobbing my head. Two thumbs up!

This shows what any song can be with some real vocal talent applied to it. No, (in response to all the detractors) Ana is not Shirley Bassey (very few of us are), but thankfully, she's also not Ms. Spears (whose talents seemed to be dancing, not singing). She's singing her heart out, as another poster noted, and for me, she delivers very well. A delightful rendition that I really could picture being done back in an old-time cabaret.
