Whenever I watch these videos of orangutans in the wild, I always notice how healthy they look. When you see them in a zoo setting, many times their hair has bald spots, besides being bored out of their lives. Same goes with the chimps. I understand that we need zoos, it's just refreshing to see these wonderful animals in their natural setting, doing what they are supposed to be doing.
@Lette4lyfe101
@Lette4lyfe101 10 ай бұрын
That's because wild orangutans are solidary creatures. They live alone in the wild until it's time to mate. Then they go their separate ways. When the female gives birth she will raise the baby and teach it all it needs to know to survive in its first seven years of life and then they too will go their own ways if I'm not mistaken. I could be wrong and the kid could possibly stay with the mom until their like 12 or 13 and are reaching sexual maturity before splitting ways I can't remember 100%. But in zoos and even sanctuaries sometimes if their housed permanently they will be housed in groups of usually roughly 3-5 females with their children if they have any and one male are housed together. That is until the young are about 6 or 7 and get moved from the group to the nursery until their sexual nature and can go make their own family group. So where wild orangutans only groom themselves, very rarely may get groomed by a mate when mating, or mother and child will groom each other during the rearing process, captive orangutans have company all the time so they groom and get groomed a whole lot causing them to lose fur in spots that are over groomed. Especially the higher their rank in their troop they get groomed by the lower ranked members more often and the male will get groomed the most causing them to lose fur in multiple spots.
@leonefurlan137
@leonefurlan137 9 ай бұрын
@@Lette4lyfe101orang's allmost do not groom each other at all! They are solitary arboreal apes,never living in grouos,only mother & child stay together for 7/8 yrs,but then they separate for good... Most other species groom 24/7,as you said very important process,deciding hierarchy/submissivness,relationships and so much more. Just saying

When the mama orangutan used her body to let her baby climb to the other side , it reminded me how Jesus used His body so we can get to Heaven. But most importantly, Jesus sacrificed Himself so we can be with our Heavenly Father again. Sin has separated us from God. But God is so good that He sent us a Saviour , His precious Son to save us from our sins, our wrongdoings, and to bring us back Him so we can live with Him forever , in place where there is no more pain, no more sorrow and no more crying. A place where love is the law. Love is all around , love from our Father , and love for each other. You can be there too! You can start to have a relationship with God now , just start talking to Him like you would talk to a friend. You can talk to Him about everything , He knows all of our mistakes, failures and shortcomings and He still loves us with a everlasting love. A love with no end. You can experience this love today. Just ask God to come into your life and you will receive it , you will receive Him.
