as a norwegian the Stokke chair is a staple in most homes with children. Here it is normal to inherit the chair from familymembers when new babies are coming, or to sell it for almost the same price you bought it. It is really popular, and have been for 30 years. Im expecting a baby in june, and we are getting the chair from my mother in law, its the same one my man used as a kid, and his sister used it for their children :) It might be a culturething :)

That's great! I think that's a bigggg difference from what I'm referring to in this video where most American moms are spending $300+ on it only to not love it. I would have no issue if it was something passed down through generations

It's the same in Slovenia, as far as I know every family has one. I remember loving sitting in it as a kid, my siblings and I were using it our whole childhoods and sometimes we would even fight over who would sit in it. Since mum insisted that the only place to eat was at the dining table, the only options were the tripp trapp or regular chairs which just aren't as comfortable when you're a kid. Mum kept that tripp trapp for all these years, I thought I would use it with my baby, too, but then my family and friends got me a new one for my baby shower and I'm very grateful for that (and my baby will use the old one at my mum's house).

So glad I found your channel. My apartment is tiny and I’ve been so overwhelmed with all the things moms have been telling me I “need”. This was super helpful and anxiety relieving!

Awe I'm so happy! Yeah one thing I did - and recommend to all moms - is wait and see what you need. Typically we need a lottttt less than we realize

I agree with you on all of these. I remember making my baby registry and everyone though I was crazy because I asked for so little. It's true that you don't need a lot. Second had clothing is the best and if you hit once apon a child right you can get 10 outfits for 10 dollars.

Changing tables are essential, my baby is now 22 months old and we still use a changing table. We also use the miku, which I’ll be using for my second child because it helped with tracking breathing, and sleep schedules. The Snoo was a Godsend, definitely using it again for my second baby, well worth the price. The diaper genie was annoying with his little it holds but I liked how it completely blocked the smell out once our baby started solids- we might get it again.

Only one I disagree with is the hatch and the baby swings. I’m a little biased though, my daughter loves her hatch, and our V tech baby monitor is far more annoying when the power goes out cause it starts an alert to unplug it, but she doesn’t notice if the sound machine stops making sound. As For the swings sometimes it was just nice to be able to set her down somewhere secure while I started prepping dinner, doing dishes, folding laundry, going to the bathroom really quick…I could keep my eye on her and get some other things done around the house. To me it helped me feel like I could be present for her and not fall behind on other things because when she was awake she wanted my presence, was a good way to do that and get a moment hands free at the same time.

Some things I agree some I don't. The bassinets are used for a short time its true but it depends if they are worth it for you and your situation. For example, a mama that had a c-section can greatly benefit from one like the Halo. The diaper genie is a waste of money but, if you get the Ubbi you dont need special bags for it just the regular ones you use for trash. The baby tub is a must for me. I need my baby contained not wiggling around. haha.

I loved my diaper genie I was given but it kept breaking after my second son (it was used when someone gave it to me). Breastmilk poop still kinda stinks and you can most definitely smell it it’s just not a terrible smell. I always bathed my last two babies in the sink. (:

I don’t like the thought of video monitors. Seen too many get hacked. I just went to audio monitors too.

My sister watched her babies on the monitor constantly. I know for some moms it causes anxiety because you feel like you have to know what they are doing at all times but I even before this video made the decision for my baby -first time expecting mom- I was getting the audio only. To each their own but I know my anxiety would spike. I do not want to be a helicopter mom.

I like a video monitor. If it was audio I would listen and wonder what's happening, with a video I see and don't have to go check.

I think you're in the majority; I added my 2 cents here because I think not everyone feels comfortable acknowledging when video monitors aren't working for them, despite them being useful for most!

straight jacket thats what I think about with that strap in the bed. My babies can not use that with silent reflux.

You definitely live up to your name 😂 sorry but its great if all of this works for you but most parents use and love all of the items you mentioned in your video. Very out of touch.
