She said “maybe they will now that she’s done this to me” and he replied “you got a coke splashed in your face???!!!!…” that’s totally assault but he didn’t see it as very significant at the time compared to what he’s been through

Martha in real life is not dead, she's currently updating her facebook statuses every five minutes about Richard Gadd. People found her through twitter really easily so she wasn't safe guarded much which is wild

"People" are arseholes. Richard didn't want everyone to go round speculating on a witch hunt for this mentally ill woman. Imagine the effect the death threats the mindless idiots send out will have on that woman. It's completely unfair. People have been falsely accused because they're throwing things out. It disgusts me how thoughtless people are.

Well yeah, if take her at her word that it is her because no one other than her has come out to confirm who is the real life person depicted as Martha. She might not be, but she seems also mentally unwell and delusional which means it is possible that she might not be the actual "real life Martha" but came out to claim that she is to get attention and maybe even money by suing Netflix or to play victim again in an attempt to find another person that is going to give her sympathy and empathy to be her brand new victim.

Thank you for doing this recap! I finished watching Baby Reindeer last night and it was a rough watch. I felt his sympathy for Martha and that conflicted feeling with Darien. Like when he visited Darien after the viral video, how it was confirmed that Darien watched it, accepting his compliment and his job offer then wondering why he did that. Abuse is such a tricky thing. Whereas Martha in ways knew she was troubled and struggled with it, Darien didn’t care to change. He even said that Donny talking about the trauma that Darien inflicted upon him was “brave”.

So true, I was screaming on the inside “no don’t go near him again!” while with Martha there wasn’t as much dread, instead maybe he can help her help herself. Still so creepy when she came around, but she never seemed evil.

In his defence, I don’t think Richard Gadd could have protected the real Martha’s identity any more than he did. The people who tracked her down didn’t do it through identifying information, they just looked up Richard’s social media history and it was pretty obvious who his stalker was. So much of what she did to him was done in full public view.

Wow I don’t know why the algorithm recommended me your video, but I instantly clicked on it bc I just finished baby reindeer and wanted to know more. I’m so happy it got recommended! I didn’t even catch that it was a true story, and watching it without knowing I honestly thought the show was so heartbreaking and at times hard to watch, how could someone write something this traumatic and dark? Makes sense now and gives a deeper meaning. Great job!

Ur bro hit the nail on the head when he said the anticipation is so much heavier and real because its a true story. Every moment in the begginning is real scary because you dont know what Martha is capable of doing and how crazy she is about to become

I feel like if you’ve watched lost and were part of the ethos it’s almost a prank on the viewers. People digging and doing cryptology to find a meaning. Even in the show they tried to find meaning. I think it’s just a fan reference.
