The beginning music pulled me in. When she began to sing, I couldn't believe that was her voice. It's uniqueness is definitely a draw in for the listening. The music is like a big band jazzy with a in the sun poolside vibe. That last song had a familiar rhythm of a gospel song with a H.E.R flavor. I've never heard of this artist before. Thank you Tiny Desk as always.

Her voice is so rich and classic. Her vibe is so cool...all her own. She’s definitely consistently improving, she did an excellent job at staying in sync and on key with the band, especially considering the stretch, vocal range, and sheer power of her voice. Her voice definitely makes me think of the greats like Nina Simone, Billie Holiday, and even Maya Angelou...they all had such unique powerful voices. In an industry so over saturated with pop it’s high key refreshing to hear a voice like this. All in all...I’d say her future is as bright as the red jacket she’s wearing.

I Shazamed it… I must have listened to it 100 times on repeat. Did my googles and found she was performing in Philly… drove all the way there solo.. I was blown away!! She performed a couple of days later in NYC… I got to see her and meet her and tell her how great she was and how great I thought she’d be. Several shows and albums later and she still is!!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
