In the 1960's when mine were born the doctors started babies on cereal at three weeks. All three of mine as well as their friends thrived and are well and alive today

Oh god things have changed since I had children ! My first a boy was constantly crying for milk from 4 weeks and I remember my mother bless her saying to me make egg custard for his tea ! The health visitor was appalled ! And my mother said to her and how many children have you had ? The health visitor said none ! I have been to college and I have qualified ! My mother said I have had 5 and they were all different ! And my grandson needs more than milk ! She was right ! I followed my mums old fashioned advice ! My son is now a very handsome 40 year old that loves his food 😂

Wow I'm reading everyone comments and I'm like one people just need to mind there own business theses parents are paying videos of there baby just want you to see how cute they are if they want to feed them then just let them and enjoy it I fed my daughter real food when she was just 2 weeks old she ate eggs potatoes all that and it NEVER hurt her at all she loves all kind of foods!!! 🙂

Hi again, just popped in to say, yes wow how things have changed. This baby is really a little bit too young for this in my humble opinion. 3 months for solids means she has no clue on earth what you're doing. My Megan grabbed a cooked carrot when she was 10 months old and we're like, "ok! She's ready!"

My Dan ate at 3 weeks and flourished...Where did this 6 month thing come from...To me its rediculous...They are so active that they need good nutrition.No child at any age really doesn't know what you are doing feeding them but with repeat tries they catch on real quick...Sorry but it just irks me when I read that and I read it a lot...Also the parent knows their child and what the child is ready to do...

For any parents watching this you should wait at least until 4 to 6 months until you feed your baby they have to be able to sit supported hold their heads up with no problem and be interested and willing to take the spoon, when you start your babies out on baby cereal make sure that it's a more liquid consistency rather than thick, the baby will have more trouble taking in the food if it's thick like this.

Pediatricians have changed on their minds a bit. Babies can start eating solid food a little younger than four months and it's fine. Research has shown that babies who start solids very early actually have fewer allergies and digestive problems, though they aren't sure why. It's the opposite of what they thought a few years ago.

Cindy Tomlinson I put the cereal in the bottle and made a bigger hole in the nipple. My son was 9.3lbs and was wanting so much milk he just threw it up. Put a little cereal in the bottle and at 2 weeks he slept through the night.

Mine were started on solids at 6m With breast milk. Plain yogurt,mashbanana,and wheat germ. They loved it so do I. Try it. They do not need anything but the breast until that age breast milk is custome ordereperfect baby formula.

She's spitting it out. She's too young. Try solids again in about 3 months. Cereal doesn't have to be the first "food". You can feed her avocado, sweet potato, etc.. Taste the cereal--you wouldn't want to eat it, why feed it to your baby?

The reason they tell you to do cereal first is bc it tastes just like the breast milk or formula that’s mixed in with it, so if you think it tastes bad, that’s why.

I dont understand parents trying to push these babies to do things when they are too young, I loved giving my baby a bottle or feeding them when they are old enough. It seems parents are rushing these children, they grow up too fast .

Wanda, agree. Another example is 'teaching' babies to roll over, sit up, crawl, etc. What's the rush? Let babies do things on their own when they are ready.

dilara Sayari I've seen many videos here parents making babies sit up at one or two months. Some feeding them at 2 months. Don't know what they're thinking, rushing to feed them, have them sit up. Annoying parents allows them to fall, scare them and laugh even when they're sound asleep, they purposely yell or scream to scare them to make them cry while videotape them. I've seen too many awful things these parents do to their newborns. Abusive.
