@TormentedTerrorizer he is saying the baby sea turtles think it’s day time because of the light from the cameras. When in reality the baby sea turtles manly hatch at night not the daytime. and they do that because there are less predators at night and also because they follow the light from the moon which helps guide them to the ocean. Also if you look closely the light from the cameras are guiding the baby sea turtles to the ocean. You could look it up if you would like to learn more about baby seas turtles

its illegal to intervene with wildlife entirely, except if the animals injured and not being hunted, its a pet, or it got injured from something manmade, or also stuff like bushfires and drowning (if its not being hunted ofc). @christopherwood2290
@christopherwood2290 3 жыл бұрын
@@nickmitsialis That is totally untrue. Tiny animals have even smaller and more vulnerable offspring. While an elephant calf weighs 300 pounds but is vulnerable to predation. A Blue Whale calf weighs 6000 to 8000 pounds yet they can be preyed upon by Killer whales. So your analogy is ridiculous.
@nickmitsialis
@nickmitsialis 3 жыл бұрын
@@christopherwood2290 You're right of course! I was meaning 'lower' vertebrates: reptiles, fish and sharks who DON'T practice intraunterine cannibalism (seven gills and tigers can spew out over 100 pups sometimes) (I'm not sure about giant amphibians). Mammals invest a lot of energy on their offspring and put in a lot of care to ensure their survival. I think I heard that among things like Nile and Saltwater crocs something like 90% of their biomass gets 'passed on' to other animals in the form of food, whether eggs or hatchlings. I'm guessing the same applies to large constrictors like anacondas or pythons.

its nature, like, you just want to save the baby turtle because its cute, at least the cameraman knows that this is nature and it’s kinda unethical to hinder nature

I think an important attribute of nature photographers is that they don't interfere with whats the natural way of life for these animals. Its fundamental part of nature some animals get killed for food, and taking the wrong decision gets you killed. I don't think he should have gripped in, but when its unnatural trouble humans caused I may think otherwise

I remember once I was boogieboarding near somewhere tropical, and I was near the shore. I was having fun, until I turned around and there was a ghost grab that was pretty big on my boogie board. I instantly jumped off and swam to the shore. Now i dislike ghost crabs.

The part that fascinated me the most in the octopus part was that even though the octopus knows it’s own camouflage, it can still recognize that it will be better hidden attached as a sandy branch instead of laying in the open

Human interaction in the form of floating garbage costs too many lives to be filming crabs eating baby turtles. Not to mention the use of the spotlight to trigger them into scrambling down the beach just to get a show on video. Shame on this cameraman.
