Interesting there is a style that mimics the snake it's called Chen Snake Fist Kung Fu, and a lesser known style called cobra style Kung-Fu. There are many common snakes which are small and pretty, so unless you suffer from having to have an extraordinary pet, they're a pretty decent pet. Furthermore, if you're scared of snake bites you could keep one of the species of legless lizards.
