Do you put the crickets in the fridge for a little while before feeding them just to slow them down? If I put a cricket in them small enclosures with the lid off, I would have a loose cricket hopping around my room. Crickets are a pain in the arse in my experience. They never stay put. It's OK when you get them in and shut the lid, but I always have to be quick.

Hey so we have 2 slings/almost juveniles (1 yr old now but no one can seem to tell us if they're juveniles yet) and just a bub sling (6 months old) but we've been told by breeders never to leave crickets in with them and to remove both the back legs of the crix so they cant hurt the ts. Is this right information? We feed them weekly and as it's been more warmer they've been doing great take downs (we live is Australia). The two 1 yr olds are a sp cooktown goliath and a sp Champagne Robustus and the bub is an sp4 yellow. Any info would be so so much appreciated x

Lovely X-mas tree~ So wish they had life-size anatomically correct tarantula lights (with breed accurate colors!) great for any occasion ;)

OMG the G. Actaeon dancing made my day! I just got one, it's about the same size, about 3 weeks ago. I've offered it food once a week since I've gotten it and it's not taking anything, just sitting in it's hide. Is this a sign it's going to molt?

I actually like that they don't always jump on their food. It helps we newer keepers see that it's OK, and we shouldn't panic. I'm trying to mix in some Dubias for the protein, but they just immediately burrow, and I don't know if that means they spider will NEVER eat them, or just... not right now. I usually drop in a second one and just assume I'll remove any the next day if I can find them.

The first ones I'd call juvies since they got some decent colors and size. What do you do if it doesn't take the cricket when it falls down in the burrow? I only use dubias for slings cause of the risks..

How often do you feed your tiny slings? And do you just do 1 appropriate sized cricket? I just got a itsy bitsy C. fimbriatus and C. versicolor. Maybe 3/4 each. Also, do you have tips for telling when the tiny tiny ones are about to molt? I’ve looked online but it seems so hard to tell when they are that tiny.
