Pandas are vegetarian. Healthy people who live the longest, are too. If Pandas had all the cancers we have with as rare as they are, they'd be extinct. Cancer survivors who become vegetarian survive, no they THRIVE! I know, I am married to one who listened to this wisdom only after he had cancer. Be wise, do it sooner.

Those criticizing that this is such a bad habitat should go educate yourself before criticizing. China is doing a fantastic job keeping and breeding these pandas. They are the treasure of China and and immeasurable amount is being spent on these pandas. This "prison" you saw is only part of their enclosure and also because of the baby.

I guess this panda will not survive in the wild because they are so lazy😁🤣
@flyboysteven99793 жыл бұрын
I've often wondered how a panda who is raised in captivity can survive in the wild.....because once they are put out there, i would think they wouldn't know what to do since everything up to that point has been done for them
@faithclarke77213 жыл бұрын
@@flyboysteven9979 that is true, but without their care the pandas would have died out a long time ago. Theyre trying to protect the species. From what i know their diet of only bamboo actually makes them really lazy in the wild as well. Tho i could be wrong. I think i remember reading they have nutritional problems cause they only eat bamboo which contributes to their having been endangered. But if they are cared for by keepers they can thrive better and someday when the population is high enough learn to be released back into the wild. There is a way to teach captive animals how to survive in the wild by hiding food and coming up with different ways for them to cultivate the skills they need.
@flyboysteven99793 жыл бұрын
@@faithclarke7721 I wasn't criticizing their actions...i think the pandas are very fortunate to have people care for them to protect their species...i was just pointing out that after being pampered all their lives, it must be challenging to them to have to do everything for themselves after finally being released into the wild......when my dad was alive, he did EVERYTHING for my family.....so when he passed away, we found out what all he did and it was hard for us to do everything cuz he always did them for us all our lives
@faithclarke77213 жыл бұрын
@@flyboysteven9979 dont worry my comment wasn't meant to be a criticism I was just commenting what I knew in case you wanted to know. you do have a good point but don't be worried there are lots of smart scientists out there an I'm sure they'd make a way to teach the pandas what they need to know before releasing new generations back into the wild. true though for the ones born in captivity and are kept to raise the population itd be too challenging for them to be released back in the wild. tho even with scientists finding ways to help them they will still need to make quite the adjustment like you said.

@chainzhang57137 жыл бұрын
I'm a Chinese, let me explain it to you, actually it is hard for panda to be alive in wild, you know, look for food and resist cold, there are also natural enemy like tiger would eat small panda, so after multiply for millions of years if there are twins panda the panda mom would kill one baby and take care of another one intently. I know it is hard to believe but it is their nature. So you see the panda keeper would let the panda mom takes care her one baby only and change it to another one each five days
@brendacarawan7 жыл бұрын
Your's is the most informative post I've read. Thank you. It gives it all a purpose. I had no idea why they kept swapping the babies. The 'alone time' theory just didn't really explain why they would go to such great lengths to keep the mother with one baby. Your explanation reveals just how crucial the 5 day swap is and gives sense and importance to the process. However, the mother HAS to know......maybe she IS grateful for the help, as someone suggested. Do you have any idea how long they have to keep the babies separated? Is there ever a 'safe' time when the mother can have both of them together? Thanks again!
@ironguanyin1236 жыл бұрын
Brenda Carawan Actually when baby pandas are first born they get swapped every 3 days, then every 5 days, then every 10 days. This is because the younger they are the more vulnerable they are. When the twins are swapped the one coming from the incubator would be sprayed her mother's scent so she recognises it as her own. I've only seen one video where both panda cubs have been together with their mother, but I believe it's when they are older, like about 6 months. Normally the mother will kill one in the wild, or eat one - I've also seen a video of this. If you are interested, you can watch the Pandamonium 1 -5 series on youtube. The Wolong reserve was destroyed in the 2008 earthquake in Sichuan, but luckily it's been rebuilt, and it's much nicer, and has a semi-wild facility just to help release the pandas into the wild better.
@ironguanyin1236 жыл бұрын
Maria Skødt They can't swap straight away as the mother panda shouldn't see the swap in action. They must have done countless experiments in the past and know what's the best plan - they've been breeding pandas for the last 30 years. Also it's probably a scent thing. The mother needs to be distracted for a while, even though her baby will be sprayed with her scent, maybe it's still weaker as it's just come from the incubator or outside.
@sonyadewi70194 жыл бұрын
Because, they were not sure how much time needed for each of the swapping action. The baby cannot be exposed too longer without the heater . They were too vulnerable.
