Romee I really hope you read this comment because it could answer why Mint has “ stomach problems”. Check under her tongue to see if she is “ tongue-tied”. This means that there is a little piece of skin attaching the tongue to the bottom floor of the mouth. It shouldn’t be there although it is quite common and is OFTEN overlooked by doctors and nurses. If she is tongue tied it makes it difficult to get a proper grip ( suction) on the nipple ( also of the bottle) which means she will swallow air which causes an upset stomach. This is also why some babies seem to be hungry all the time. Hope this helps you. Btw it’s so lovely to see you guys posting again, I’ve missed you. I promise that this will all be worth it when she gives you her first proper smile at about 5-6 weeks. Hang in there darlings! ❤️❤️❤️😘

Hi Romee, I'm a young mother of two little boys and i just wanted to let you know that things will get so much easier. Soon things will be a lot more predictable and normal, you will sleep again, baby won't have stomach issues anymore, breastfeeding will get so much easier or it might not work and baby will get a bottle (what I'm saying is, don't stress out as long as baby is fed and happy). Both my babies were super 'needy' and on my boobs constantly (I'm talking about every 15minutes for hours, not every two hours) and I know it feels like forever especially when you are tired but hang in there, it's a matter of maybe a few months! Can hmmm
@thecatandthelizard42523 жыл бұрын
Regarding the stomach issues, the first one was really colicky and with the second one we really made sure to burp him a lot after feeding. No matter how annoying it was when he fell asleep after a feed and we had to wake him up to burp him, it paid off. Sometimes it takes ages for the burp to come but it was worth it. When we didn't do it baby would get upset not long after and wake up really agitated and it would be really difficult to burp him at that point.

Romee I know advice is now always welcome but My baby also had bad colics and I was at a point of being ready to try anything! Try Taking a teaspoon of fennel seeds and putting them into a cup of hot boiled water. Let it “brew” for a few hours and then give her a tablespoon of cooled fresh fennel water in a bottle a few times a day. If she doesn’t like it just put a little sugar in it to make it a bit sweet. This is a very old remedy but many times it does work! You just have to try for at least a few days or a week to give it time to work

For a bay to sleep, make sure the three rules are there, fed, clean and warm . So clean diaper, well fed and burped, and dressed in good enough layers to feel warm, but not hot. You can also use also a bedsheet that has your smell to let her sleep on.

First of all how great you look even without much sleep. Newborn tummy issues are so normal, been through that. It goes away suddenly completely when baby can pass the gas around 3 month. Until then, there are some meds though did not work too much but honestly time will fly. If possible and you have room, try to sleep in turns in different rooms or take walks while other person sleeps. You will not remember it in a year. Enjoy each moment!

What an amazing job you are doing! Suggestion: If the only food Mint is getting is your breast milk, it may help to consider what you are eating. What you eat, she eats. He's 14 months old now and while he still doesn't sleep through the night it does get so much better. The biggest change honestly was when he started rolling over and sleeping on his tummy -- only safe once they can do it themselves but that made him so much happier. There wasn't much we could do about his digestion to be honest, we tried everything but it was really just about his little gut maturing. It's such a hard, exhausting, overwhelming time but you're doing amazing. Take any help offered and remember that you will sleep again sooner than you think!

Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful family. A warm bath, with warm milk every night lets her know its bedtime. When you repeat the same thing over and over she knows what to expect and her sleeping schedule will begin to increase. In the beginning its all about maintaining schedule for everyone. Hope you get some needed rest. Doctor always says to sleep when the baby sleeps in the beginning even though its hard. Maybe little cat naps for all! Blessings to you.

Romeee, if you’re breastfeeding DO NOT DRINK COFFEE!!! I drank lots of tea with my first and he didn’t sleep until I finally realised and in a few days it was fixed!!!!

Hey Romee. I never comment but I have a baby just a week older than your little one and have the exact problems with tummy pain and gas partly due to having a fast let down as well. I found out that when I cut out dairy that helped so much. I also move his legs around in a bicycle motion every time I change his diaper just in case there is any little gas that needs help coming out. You’re doing great mama!

My baby is now 5.5 week old and I felt so depressed after the birth because of a lack of sleep and my body recovery, I thought I was alone and the worst person on earth. But now I feel much better, it’s even the same for you, thanks for sharing.

don't show her face for at least 5 years. She is your baby and protecting your baby's identity is one of the few things you can control. Respect to you for choosing not to show her face

Saying that it’s her baby and then telling her what to do with HER BABY in one comment seems ironic 😂

I mean, the opposite would be much more logical..show your baby maximum for the first years, because it will change drastically anyway. Later on no one will recognize your child if you stop showing the face as soon as it develop proper features

Romee I recommend dipping Mint’s pacifier/ dummy/ soother in GRIPE water. It is a miracle worker that helps babies with colic
