You can use FWCC at any age, we would recommend the newborn version for very small babies (you can see a couple of versions here kzbin.info/www/bejne/bYKwhn-feKx9jJo), but the version shown here will work well for a 2.5 month old.

Can we keep the baby's legs stretched apart like that. Because I'd be using this while doing all sorts of chores which means baby's legs are going to stay that way for a few hours... so just wondering if the legs will turn out to have a bend or something like that

The position you are looking for is a 'spread-squat' or 'M' shape with a deep tilt at the pelvis. The legs aren't forced apart but should be in their natural position that a baby takes when you hold them. Check out this video for more - kzbin.info/www/bejne/bYKwhn-feKx9jJo
