Btw the tragety they were talking about in Spring day is the Sewol Ferry Accident. There was an accident on a boat with a lot of students, and the crew told the students to stay in their place instead of evacuating which resulted in a lot of students drowning, while the crew/captain themselves evacuated and survived. The government and media of Korea actually tried to cover up this accident by not giving out all the information and not investicating it. BTS could have gotten blacklisted for this bc people weren't allowed to talk about it. Dont take my word for it though, since I'm not from korea so I only read about it online.

Yeah, you're right, 304 passengers died, including 250 students from the same highschool all on a field trip together They sort of denied that the song was about the accident at first since the topic was sensitive, but with the symbolisms in the mv and lyrics, everyone knew that it was about it. BTS was later found donating to the campaign while they were producing the song Because of this, Spring Day is the longest charting song on the Korean music chart ever, almost 3 years now since it came out (it's a weekly chart as well) A survivor (from the school) once said that the only thing they could do is to never forget them

So after map of the soul: persona is album which was just relised: map of the soul: 7 for which we were all thinking that is going to be called "shadow" or "ego" the dark sides of your soul. But bts combined this two in one album (mos 7) and the last clip in the video is from their legendary performance on mma 2019 (melon music awards- you shoul defenetly watch that!!! Is like.. Something you never seen before- but is kinda long 37 minuts or something like that) i think that you should first listen to their new album and songs (there are solo and group stafs like bts always has) and mma performance😍 and some funny videos - there is many concent Love your reactions❤️❤️❤️

EDIT: Forgot to add, if you can, please react to BTS From Nobodies to Legends 2018 next (this is the best overview of their careers up to that point) and then BTS From Nobodies to Legends 2019 (gives a brief summary of their career up to 2018, then focuses on last yr). Note that there used to be a Nobodies to Legends 2013-2017, but that was taken down I think. Then I'd strongly recommend BTS Hardships, one of the most emotional, enlightening, amazing summaries of some things they've gone through (some are touched on in the Nobodies/Legends vids, but not enough). These 3 vids will only grow your appreciation for them even more, to say the least.

Jk is the lead vocalist and plays as center in dance formations but he isnt 'main ' as in noone in bts is the main.u will hear terms as lead dancer lead rapper and such but dont focus much on that , leads help out fellow members its mostly that not like on the way to become the beyonce of the grp 😂. As u watch more of them u will realise each one contributes and is valued equally. These are wonderful boys under a good agency, u are in for a treat of a lifetime. The music, the theories, the videos, choreography, the merchandise, the personalities, and bonds with each other and the fans is just so wholesome. this video came out before the album was released, so i think Map of the soul 7 is it. i just read all the lyrics today, and its not a dark one, but more of a reconciliation of the struggles they faced to get at this point. it also seems like a tribute to each other and Army for sticking by them. the lyrics are more beautiful and heartwenching with many references to their real lives, incidents and moments, which after watching and getting to know BTS in the last few months.

Hello dear! Thank you for your beautiful reaction, I enjoyed watching yr video. Wow, BTS have a lot of content. They have a lot of albums as they use to release twice a year. Not all are full albums, some are eps and some are repackages with 4-6 new songs. Current era is Map of the soul. Only 2 albums in this series. first album is Map of the Soul:Persona. They mentioned that they combined Shadow and Ego into Map of the Soul:7(latest release). Instead we have Interlude:shadow and Outro:ego as songs which BTS releases as comeback trailers. So typically when BTS releases a new album, in K-pop vernacular that's called a comeback. They will release a comeback trailer(1 song) as a preview for their new album as well as to get ARMYs hype for new content. A month later they release their title track(in American terms single) together with their full album. Sometimes they might release a second single from the album but usually we get comeback trailer first, then title track and simultaneously the full album. To note, comeback trailers are done by one member, they take turns each comeback. Comeback trailers is also a prelude to their title track, lyrics and themes wise they go together. When you go through their lyrics you'll see. They have mentioned before that their title tracks set the tone and colour of the whole album. With BTS music you gotta listen front to back in order. They also do solo songs and units songs in these albums. Each member gets a solo, we have rapline and vocal line songs as well as OT7 songs so you'd get to hear their personal and diverse styles. In the latest mots:7 we get 3 new sub-units songs. Their whole discography is basically their coming of age story where they express and share their hopes, dreams, struggles and encourages their listeners/ARMYs to get to know themselves deeper so that they can enpower themselves. Since you mention that you are all about the lyrics, please check out BTS lyrics on the websites below. Lyrics videos are fine to get the gist/overview of their meaning but to truly appreciate BTS' heart/mind/soul it's best to go to below translations sites. You get all the cultural context and nuances plus extras. You'll understand their double/triple and one time octuple wordplays. The fun really starts when you get deep into their beautiful poetic lyrics. They also draw inspirations from a lot of literature so there's reading to do if you like to. oh , so for your question of “how do they have this many albums ?” , they have been a group since 2013 ! that’s why they have a ton of albums . they debuted on june 13 , 2013 and they are approaching their 7th year anniversary this year :) “7” means a lot to them cuz there are 7 members and they’ve been together for 7 years . their recent album “map of the soul : 7” is them talking about their journey as a group and the things they’ve felt over the past 7 years , with each member having their own solo track . there are even sub unit songs , one with the vocal line (jin , jimin , v , jungkook) and another with the rap line (rm , suga , jhope) and there are songs with different members as well as ones with all seven of them . also , the first five tracks of “map of the soul : 7” are from the previous album “map of the soul : persona” . i think they added these tracks to create a full story . also , they were supposed to have two albums titled “MOTS: SHADOW” and “MOTS: EGO” that were to follow Persona , but in august-september 2019 , they went on a little vacation for themselves to reenergize and relax , so they decided to just have one whole full-length album , and that’s how “map of the soul: 7” was born ! i definitely think you should listen to the whole album ! and please if u have any other questions feel free to ask !

The new album is 7 which in Korean sounds like ego. It is about the darker sides of them, their shadow sides. It is an amazing album and as Suga said you need to listen to the whole album, the story running through it. I’m like you - the lyrics are everything to me. I even started learning Korean just so I could understand the lyrics without translation. A lot of thing have a cultural basis which does not always come across when translated into English.

Yes they have a lot of albums and more than 250 songs. They are so hardworking 🥺 they wrote 95% of them too, especially the rapline. Their discography is amazing. Its so wide and not repetitive. HYYH is my fav era of them but mots:7 is slowly taking over, both albums are so personal and thats my taste in music. But for wide ranges, LY series definitely has the widest genre. I mean, you have there singularity and IDOL? Outro: tear and Anpanman? Wow. Very different genre. To cut it short, BTS discography is pretty amazing to me. Thats why they have HIT ALBUMS, and not one hit song only in an album. All the songs in the album are actually hits and bops and its hard to pick a favorite. 😂 Just a tip: when listening to their songs, look up lyric translations. Lyrics is everything to BTS. :)

Yes, you were right. BTS is very well known for their poetic and philosophical meanings behind their lyrics as well as the integrated contents across songs within an album or even across albums. And the most important part is that their contents are very relatable with the common life journey people tend to experience in life. This is why most people feel strong attachments with their songs. I feel that they just representing us, common people in exploring life, pain, and happiness. I personally admire the fact that they seem to avoid becoming such an image seeker. They are not faking themselves. They are just being themselves. Just a thought.

Some things for you to watch. MMA 2018 - full performance. It is long but you wont be disappointed. Some of the clips you loved from this performance are from this video. The dancing is freaking awesome. MMA 2019 - full performance. Its even longer, but even more awesome and some of the clips to really loved from this video are in here. If you really like BTS's lyrics, I'm going to leave some song recommendations that I personally think have the best lyrics that are very relatable and that you might find especially relatable or interesting. Black Swan - go to the MV and press the CC button for subtitles. Shadow - go to the MV and press the CC button for subtitles, this is a Suga solo song. Baepsae - watch the dance practice, then watch the "Baepsae Explained by a Korean" by DKDKTV which will talk you through the lyrics which don't really translate into English because they use so much Korean slang terms and cultural references. Intro: The Most Beautiful Moments in Life lyric video. This song contains one of my favorite lyrics of all time "because of others standards of success, my worries spread like cancer again."
