i haven't seen anyone explain it yet, so here's my take on it. the story has a ton of religous references, the very obvious ones are the historical paintings, statues, and the black wings. a few others would include the dinner with a single apple served on a plate representing the forbidden fruit, and the guy who shot the arrow (i’ll explain it later on)the theme of bs&t is basically losing of innocence and their soul, where V plays the role of the devil. 4 of the members have been caught in the trap of V, so their verses make sense. eg. “My blood sweat and tears, my last dance too, just take em’.” also, if you noticed, there was a lot of scenes where their eyes are being covered. this represents “see no evil.” Now, there was Jin, who was dazed and constantly looked confused throughout the MV. he's the only one who hasn't given up on his innocence. The other member who is not affected is j-hope, the one who shot the arrow. he portrays the angel who is supposed to save them, but we see that the arrow doesn’t affect V in the least bit. later on we see him dancing in an almost angry manner in the water, inferring that he had failed to save them.back to Jin, V continues to tempt him into giving himself to him. though he is unsure, Jin eventually does give in. remember that one scene where everything was red, and Jin let go of the balloon? the balloon represents his innocence, and immediately after he lets go and allows it to fly away, he reaches out to it again as if he immediately regrets it, but it's too late.we then go to the scene where Jin kisses the statue. the kiss represents a somewhat contract, a seal between the two. it was also mentioned in the lyrics: “Kiss me on the lips A secret just between the two of us Deeply poisoned by the jail of you I cannot worship anyone but you and I knew The grail was poisoned but I drank it anyway” concerning the grail, there was a green substance one of them had consumed. it was a form of poison as most theorists believe, a way that proved that they have submitted themselves to the devil. we see trails of green on all the members at the end of MV, indicating all of them have fallen pray to the devil’s clutches. hope this gives you some kind of insight :)

Actually it's been scientifically proven that all that stuff was false and literally does not mean anything. Absinthe is just an alcoholic beverage like anything else. The part of absinthe that people thought caused any issues was the wormwood. However it's been tested and not shown to do anything. Wormwood is actually a very common ingredient in cocktail beverages and it causes nothing in those. Absinthe is just a strong alcohol.

Has anyone mentioned that the entire Wings era is based on Herman Hesse's book Demian? It explains quite a lot. The opening prose on each short film are excerpts from the book. BS&T specifically represents when Demian "transcends" at the end, but it's done here very symbolically. And it all fits into the storyline symbolically, as opposed to literally like the short films of the love yourself era will.

Yay you’ve finally gotten to the iconic Blood Sweat & Tears! This MV is a TRIP to say the least lol but it’s a masterpiece imo, it’s one of those videos that suck people in the first time they see it (as it did with me). And your confusion is absolutely valid, it’s one of the more difficult MVs to process...although I must say you’re one of the only people I’ve seen who’s been SCARED by Jin kissing the statue hahaha

I listened to it years ago and I didn't like it, so I never gave BTS a chance when I first heard about them. Also Jin's kiss with the statue was supposed to be him kissing Taehyung. But, obviously they couldn't kiss so it shows how Taehyung represents the statue with the black wings, but his wings fell. So he is left with wings mark on his back.
