Dexter/Lippert recommend once every 12,000 miles you maintenance your bearings. That means pulling all of your hubs, taking your seals out, cleaning/inspecting your bearings/hubs/races & brakes, and replacing any damaged components and always replacing seals that have been pulled. From what I see most serious drivers typically do it at the latest 20,000-30,000 miles. It's not a quick job. I always recommend drivers to carry spare wheels/tires/hubs/brakes/bearings. Saves a lot of the time when it inevitably happens to you.
@StingerJake7 ай бұрын
That all depends on how hard you use your trailer. Or if your maxing a single tandem or average use on a dual tandem. Most single tandem owners are maxing their trailers all the time to stay in the game.

A tip for ya. On those cotter pins, take a pair of diagonal cutters the bigger the better and clamp onto the round side of the cotter pin. Rest the back side of the pliers on a surface and litterally roll them over to the left or right. It will pull the cotter pin right out easy. Works for all size cotter pins. Just don't clamp too hard and cut it on accident.

Me I carry two brake assemblies and hub assemblies and a set of bearings with me, so if one goes down I replace then on reset I replace bearings in one took off. I'm not sure on your trailer axle size but start at dexter hub assemblies websites then go from there I guess. Also, some inspect/repack their bearings or inspect new oil every 6 months others every year. I just passed my 1st level 1 inspection during blitz week after being in this for 2 years. For all the pm's I have done it paid off during that inspection. Or at least that's how I justify it in my head.
