Personally, I don't think she was crying. But I do, every time I watch this. :-)

One of the best Akatsuki version and the very first one showing SuMetal raw vocals and doing it live, The First Take songs is another way to enjoy her with the stripped down version. Of course when watching and listening the original version this song and lyrics will make much more sense. And yeah, good luck with the funko, it's a very rare item nowadays.😅 See you next time 🦊🤘🔥

A longer comment but no so extensive to understand a little bit more about it: SuMetal said she knew she was delivering the emotion and feelings on this song after watching someone in the crowd crying, she's very committed to this task the way is intended to be. After this song at Legend 1997 they performed Babymetal Death, i think is a great follow up to see how they ended this special live concert, what a rollercoaster show. New reactors are in awe watching Monochrome Piano Version, they don't know she did that already live. Only one shot and that's it, they never play this version again, until Budokan 2021 when she did a little part of this in the middle of the song. The original song is a power/speed metal ballad and is fire, it's one out of four SuMetal's solos. You can watch that live at Budokan 2014. This was at Legend 1997 in 2013 when SuMetal was celebrating her 16th Birthday, you can also find two other great clips from this show, such: - Headbanger!! (Gans Tomas got this clip safe to react under Head Bangya title) - Babymetal Death (get ready for this insane ending, GuilhermeCait got this clip with the intro translated in the description box) Btw it's called Unfinished because the last lines of the original lyrics were cut in this one (that's pretty much everyone guess), they did other songs like this without the full band or instruments, like "The One - Stairway To Living Legend", later Monochrome Piano Version and after that The One - Unfinished Version (which is a short version of The One - STLL version. Also the "Unfinished" title is related more deeply in the context of this special live show but I don't wanna bother you with my theory right now, maybe next time. Kitsune up SofiMetal🦊🤘❤

Whether or not SU-METAL was crying at this time is always debated among fans. What is certain is that she was definitely crying inside. Professor Hartley's video is full of intelligent insights and a must-see for a deeper appreciation of the song. I love your reactions.

Sofimetal! Wonderful reaction! This version never fails to make my eyes sweat. Su-metal is so good at drawing you into the emotions of a song. You might not understand the words but, you will feel the song. Babymetal Death is the very next and closing song of this show. Once you watch it you will better understand the emotions/feeling of this one. I don't want to give any spoilers so, I will just say she is coming to grips with what she must do to continue the fight against the idol monster machine. I look forward to your reaction to the regular version. 2014 Budokan Black Night is my favorite! Kitsune Up! 🤘🦊🤘

Great reaction. Prof Hartley will explain everything for you.👍🦊This 'Unfinished version' was a one-off performance and it all tied in with the Legend 1997 concert and Su-metal sacrificing her life and existence as a J-Pop Idol to be reborn as a Metal Goddess. Was Su crying ... it did look like her mascara had run (it was still looking like that for the next song - the concert finale 'BABYMETAL Death'). I think the full version you are going to watch at Budokan Black Night will surprise you after watching this one - same melody, same lyrics, completely different feel.

So Buttons-metal actually took this song and put it through some filters to reduce all the blue lighting. Buttons also added in some brightness I think, and after all is said and done, it really does look like she was crying. You hear it in her voice too as it cracks a couple of times too. Anyhow, maybe, if Buttons is reading this ( pretty sure it was Buttons anyhow lol), they will upload the filtered version at some point lol

This is a very long way from Gimme Chocolate right? I’ve seen this performance dozens, if not thousands, of times and every single time the hair on my neck stands on end & I a get a lump in my throat it so wonderfully moving. The song is brilliant - the performance by this remarkable young woman is exquisite. 🙏

Great reaction, thanks! Extremely beautiful version of one of my favorite songs. Song's name "Akatsuki" or "紅月 - ア カ ツ キ -" is actually the contraction of "akai + tsuki" (meaning "red moon" or more specifically, crimson moon) and is clearly a tribute to the song "Kurenai" by X-Japan. The kanji "紅" can be also read as "kurenai" and means "crimson red". (Everything according to Du-Metal's notes). Yes, it's a sad song about the memories of a lost love but from the standpoint of being thankful for having experienced it. It's poetical enough to not be a "standard" love song. I also recommend professor Hartley's in-depth walk-though videos. The answer to "was she crying?" could be on Su's makeup during the next song of the set and Legend 1997 closing number: "BABYMETAL Death". But I recommend to check out the "regular" version of "Akatsuki" first. 😁 Until next time! 🤘🦊

@@FaroSofi Awesome! "Akatsuki" from Budokan Black Night 2014 is THE iconic live performance of the song. About "BMD", I need to warn you that it's one of their more "shocking" performances and the contrary of "kawaii"... 😁 This version has ho spoilers on the thumbnail and also has CC for the intro: "BABYMETAL Death" (Legend 1997 with CC, without spoilers): kzbin.info/www/bejne/jHaWZaCIpc5ph80

I think of this performance as a lament, the last song sung by Suzuka Nakamoto, before she sacrifices herself to become Su-Metal. The Legend 1997 concert is amazing to watch start to finish.

👏👏👏 Awesome! This song gives my soul goosebumps everytime 😢. You said "you brought the wrong energy". Keep that energy for the full version (Budokan 2014)! 😆 Headbanger's gong ending leads into the intro of this song, and this song leads to the show closer, BABYMETAL DEATH, symoblizing Su's "death" as mortal/J-Pop Idol, and rebirth as a Metal Goddess. We got a better look at her runny makeup in that video as a results of Akatsuki. While I'm unsure, I do suspect that may have teared up a little in this song. I think you'll enjoy professor Hartley's videos. He's the ultimate "paragraph" person on Babymetal 🤣. Amazing deep dive analysis for many Babymetal songs, sometimes up to an hour long! 🤘🦊

⚡ / 🔴 🌙 A Su-metal classic. 'Akatsuki' was her first solo song with BABYMETAL. It was released with the 'Megitsune' single in June of 2013. I think it's interesting she omits the final two lines of the song in this version: "Dye crimson! Dye bloody crimson!". Su had performed the heavier version several times before this, and many times afterwards, but this 'Legend 1997' show is the only time the "Unfinished" version was ever performed. I think that Su's acting talents are severely underrated. She has mentioned in interviews that she will often select a specific part of a song for special emotional emphasis. In this case, it looks like she decided to apply that to the whole damn song.
@FaroSofi3 ай бұрын
That is impressive of her, I will be keeping an eye for her emotional performances from now on!!!🦊

Yes. Su was crying. You could see her chest with rapid breathing as well amd some voice cracking. She did an amazing job to sing while crying. She was around 16 years old in this.
@dingjk56303 ай бұрын
If you have watched Headbanger legend 1997 then you know why Su-metal starts singing in that pose. If you have watched BabyMetal Death legend 1997 you will know why Su-metal sang the unfinished version instead of the normal version. Thanks for your great reaction.
@kiino0013 ай бұрын
Nice reaction as always. Keeping it short, don't want to pigeon-holed as a paragraph person after all. This is an unusual version with it normally being much heavier. Not sure of the background for this stripped back version but maybe it was done as part of Su's 16th birthday celebrations as with the unusual version of Headbanger. Someone will probably give details but it's absolutely wonderful. For your own interest the live version from Budokan Black Night is much different. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jX60moJtisR1qas
