That's why fans think that if Su-metal didn't become a BabyMetal member but an idol or a pop singer, she would still be a famous pop star. Thank Fox God, she chose to become our metal queen.

Great reaction. Su-metal first performed 'No Rain, No Rainbow' in June 2013 at the Legend 1999 concert, so it was ready long before the first album was released in 2014. However, Su-metal was not happy that she was doing the song justice emotionally and that she was concentrating more on getting the notes and the lyrics right than she was thinking about or understanding what it meant, so she did not want to record it for that album. Only when she saw somebody in the audience crying as she sang this song (probably at the Budokan in March 2014) did she realise she could effect people emotionally with her vocals - only then did she feel she was ready to record the song - it was included on the second album which was released in 2016. 'No Rain, No Rainbow' has still only been performed live 7 times - Legend 1999, Budokan Black Night 2014, Tokyo Dome 2016, Legend S (both nights) and twice at Budokan 2021. You picked the definitive performance from Su-metal's 20th birthday celebration, Legend S Baptism XX, in her home town Hiroshima in December 2017. They pulled out all the stops for these shows including the only time I can recall them having live piano and strings on stage with them The two performances at the Budokan in Tokyo in 2021 were also very special and a bit different - worth checking out as you liked the song so much. As you know Legend S was the last time Kami Band guitarist Mikio Fujioka (RIP) played with them before his tragic accident at the end of 2017 when he fell from an observation deck where he was star gazing and died from his injuries in January 2018. It is surely not a coincidence that as Su-metal sings the line "We shall never meet again, but I want not to forget you for ever" the camera focuses briefly on Mikio.

Excellent reaction, thanks! Yes, this is a beautiful song and even better live performance (pure perfection imo). "Legend S - Baptism XX" were two very special back to back concerts in Hiroshima, Su's hometown, held to celebrate her 20th birthday in December 2017. The intro of the song in these concerts was a kamishibai ("paper play" = animated storytelling) narrating the consequences for the population of the nuclear blasts occurred in 1945. Although the lyrics are not directly related to these events. This was the first time they performed without Yui (not present due to ongoing and undisclosed health issues) and the last time Mikio Fujioka (Kami Band guitarist) performed with BABYMETAL, since he untimely passed away few weeks later due to the injuries caused by an unfortunate accident while stargazing. So, all these emotions are added to the already sad lyrics (as you noticed) in this video, which was produced and released short after. RIP Ko-gami. The song is a tribute to X-Japan's "Endless Rain" and debuted back in 2013. But Su (being just 15 at the time) wasn't happy with her performance because she was more focused on hitting the correct notes than on conveying the emotions. To the point they didn't include it on their first album in 2014 and only played it three times before these concerts in December 2017. And she finally nailed it here, during their most rare concerts ever: the only two concerts they really performed as a duo, without any additional dancer and keeping the three person choreo. The song is still a rarity today, it has been performed live only seven times. 🤘🦊

Great reaction, friend 🔥🤘🦊🤘🔥 While I admire the meaning behind Babymetal fans calling Su Queen, it does feels a little inappropriate. Su has got to where she is through hard work, determination, and skill. The title Queen implies privilege bestowed upon her because of her family line or parents.. General Su is more fitting.

⚡ / ☂ 🌈 This was Kami Band guitarist Mikio Fujioka's last appearance with BABYMETAL. They have a close-up on him during this part: "Nidoto ae-nai kedo, wasure-naide itai yo." (We shall never meet again, but I want not to forget you forever.) Mikio passed away on January 5th, 2018, before the video was released. At this December 2017 show, Su was about to turn 20, the traditional age of adulthood in Japan. Yui was supposed to perform at this concert, but was unable to appear because of unspecified health reasons. The introduction just before this song refers to to the bombing of Hiroshima, Su's home prefecture, and the location of the two 'LEGEND S - BAPTISM XX' concerts. This intro was added for these shows. That doesn't mean the song was originally written to be about those events, just that they were drawing a connection for these two special concerts in Su's home prefecture of Hiroshima. The last line of this song is: "An endless rain fills my heart, forever." This is a reference to the X-Japan's song 'Endless Rain'. Of course Su delivers this song with striking clarity and emotional resonance.

Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。 We are moved by this song because we are human beings. I am Japanese but my nationality and literacy do not have distinct advantages to feel the emotion stirred by Su-Metal and Kamis. Su's voice and Kami's guitar sound resonate with the bones in my whole body. This was filmed in 2017 and BM revived this song in the last two shows of 10 BABYMETAL Budokan in 2021 with Su's more matured voice. As an eyewitness of the 2021 shows at the venue, I can tell you that it was literally heartbreaking and made me forget to breathe. This 2017 version, however, may be still the best for me although BM always say "the latest is the best". It may be so because of the last appearance of Mikio (RIP) with BABYMETAL. 😢

Nice reaction as always. This is my favourite version of my favourite Su solo song. This performance is notable for being just after Yui had to stop performing and the last time Mikio performed before his tragic passing on 5th January 2018 starting the most difficult year in their history.

NO RAIN 🌂 NO RAINBOW 🌈 :- NO RAIN, NO RAINBOW is a song from BABYMETAL's second original album, METAL RESISTANCE, by SU-METAL. It has the same music structure as Legendary band X Japan 🇯🇵 "Endless Rain" but with a different arrangement. A tear-jerker when listening to "Mikio Fujioka" guitar solo because he's such a phenomenal guitar maestro gone too soon. "The Legend Baptism XX will be 'Mikio Fujioka' last concert with Babymetal before his untimely passing in January 2018". This is special for Su and Moa especially Su because she got to perform in her hometown of Hiroshima. After the guitar solo, you can hear Su voice wavering as she tried to hide her emotion. Su owns this performance. Her facial expressions and mannerisms coincide with the song. The show at the Nippon Budokan for the 10th Babymetal anniversary is awesome. Information:- •Artist: BABYMETAL. •Album: METAL RESISTANCE. •Lyrics: YOSHIFU-METAL, Mk-metal, Nakametal. •Composition: Yoshifu-metal. •Arrangement: Ledametal. NRNR Lyrics:- Why can't I sleep どうして眠れないの? Why is the night over? どうして夜は終わるの? I don't need anything, even tomorrow いらない 何も 明日さえも A future without you 君がいない未来 Why were you laughing? どうして笑ってたの? Why? I was lonely どうして? 寂しかったのに Nobody knows it's just 誰も 知らない 本当はただ I wanted you to be by my side そばにいて欲しかった Even despair becomes light 絶望さえも 光になる Even if it keeps raining 止まない雨が 降り続いても Even despair becomes light 絶望さえも 光になる Sad rain casts a rainbow forever 悲しい雨が 虹をかけるよ どこまでも I can't see you again 二度と会えないけど I want to remember 忘れないでいたいよ If your dreams continue, don't wake up 夢が続くなら 覚めないで Why were you laughing? どうして笑ってたの? Why? I was lonely どうして? 寂しかったのに Nobody knows it's just 誰も 知らない 本当はただ I just wanted to meet you 会いたい それだけだった Even despair becomes light 絶望さえも 光になる Even if it keeps raining 止まない雨が 降り続いても Even despair becomes light 絶望さえも 光になる Sad rain casts a rainbow 悲しい雨が 虹をかけるよ 今も The unstoppable rain will fill my heart forever 止まない雨が こころ満たすよ いつまでも Songwriters: Naka Metal / MK Metal / Yoshifumetal This performance is very special to Su-Metal because it is performed in Su-Metal hometown of Hiroshima. A su-Metal grandmother is a survivor of "the hibakusha" of the Hiroshima bombings. You can hear Su-Metal voice wavering after the guitar solo. This concert is also without Yui Mizuno "Yuimetal" who withdrew from Babymetal due to a health hiatus and "Mikio Fujioka" last concert before his untimely death on January 5th of 2018 after suffering injuries from an observation deck fall while stargazing. It is 75 years since the US dropped atomic bombs on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki on 6 and 9 August, leading to the end of World War Two. Those who survived the bombings are known as "hibakusha". Survivors faced horrifying aftermath in the cities, including psychological trauma. The bombings brought about an abrupt end to the war in Asia, with Japan surrendering unconditionally to the Allies on 14 August 1945. Kitsune Up 🦊🦊🦊🤘🤘🤘🇯🇵🇸🇬#notacult

It is even more poignant when sung in Hiroshima, SU's hometown 😭. And this song was written at a time when Japan was in mourning for the loss of so many people in the great earthquake and tsunami of 2011. The lyrics, “Even despair becomes light, and the unstoppable rain brings rainbows,” are so tender that they seem to accompany the victims who are grieving over the loss of their loved ones.

This is in the end the only song from Babymetal i really love. Wished they would do more stuff like this instead all that jumping, bouncing around pop whatever. Maybe i should just listen to some of their songs with closed eyes so i don't get distracted by the (for me) annoying jumping of the other girls, who knows.
