'Brand New Day' was on The Light Side of the Metal Galaxy album released in 2019. It is definitely one of their more mellow songs. Tim Henson and Scott LePage are the virtuoso guitarists from the Texas instrumental Prog Rock band Polyphia and they provided the guitar tracks for the original recording. They had been sent a rough tape of the song with synthesised vocals and place holder guitars which they replaced with their own guitar tracks. They had no idea what the final recording would sound like until they listened to the album - and they were surprised to hear it sounded to them like a Polyphia track with vocals. The Kami Band may not have been the focus of the cameras but neither were they hidden or "shoved off to the side in the dark", they were on either side of the raised platform. This was filmed at Fox_Fest, the festival arranged and hosted by BABYMETAL in May last year. Polyphia was one of the bands they invited to play. Tim and Scott came back out during BABYMETAL's set to finally perform with them - it was their first opportunity in the 5 years since the song was released.

Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 I witnessed this artistic play at the venue (2 times in the two-day Fox_Fest). What a bliss!! Soothing and exquisite performance by 5 elegant figures in the center 😍. In addition, classy incorporation by our Kami Band on both sides (4 guitars in total + bass / drum) ❤ Various elements created by 3 beautiful performers and 6 instrumentalists with virtuosity were mixed and sublimed into one beauty by means of something like alchemy. The actual applause at the end of the song was much much much bigger than that recorded in this video. They did it together again in Belgian festival on June 20.

Come to a BabyMetal show you be glad of a slower song if only to give you a breather 😂 We are not uninterested just enjoying the song before we get back to the bangers . Great chill out song. I was lucky enough to hear it live . with the Kami band right next to the girls in full view . unfortunately, Scott and Tim were not their . you can always see the Kami band if you're there . 😁🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼

Jammin doesn't know who Scott LePage and Tim Henson are and then........laments about the Kami's being "left out" and says oh there they are off to the side (sarcastic look). I get it. Many reactors have expressed the same sentiment. But here's the "thing": So......why do you think you haven't heard of these two? Because Polyphia is an instrumental band and Tim and Scott while insanely talented appeal primarily to an audience who enjoy instrumental dominant music. Nothing wrong with that but how many people are going to pay money to watch people (insanely talented people yes) mostly just stand and play their instruments? The East Kami Band and now the West Kami Band have always realized (and have stated many times) that they are part of something special, have experienced huge crowds and traveled the world doing what they love. Would this have happened without these young ladies and the show they put on? Do not feel bad for them as they are more than fine with it. Suzuka's vocals in this song send me to a place of serenity and I can forget my troubles (her voice and the passion with which she delivers it has that effect on me many many times). And THIS is why the crowds are there. And THAT was a Japanese crowd. Dead? No just respectful when necessary. That same crowd (Fox Fest 2023) would be rocking and moshing Soon after this to Ratatatata 😉 in the appropriate manner.
