I'm sure someone (or maybe me if I got here before anybody else) explained when you originally put this up that Yuimetal left the band in October 2018 after a 12 month absence for undisclosed health reasons, so BABYMETAL is now Su-metal and Moametal and in live shows since the start of the 2019 tour they have been supported by any one of the three 'Avengers', Kano, Riho and Momoko who dance in the third spot.

Of course, in the Japanese idol industry, leaving due to "health concerns" is just a euphemism for being fired. This is so that the producers won't have to face any backlash from the fans. We will never know why she actually left the band, as her contract will absolutely forbid her to talk about it. Idols regularly get sued in Japan for breach of contract, and can receive some very stiff fines for saying things they shouldn't, or meeting a boy, or any of a hundred arbitrary things that they are forbidden to do. Why do you think that Babymetal were given the phrase "only the fox-god knows" to use at interviews? They simply aren't allowed to speak about some things. Amazing artists as they are, they are (or at least were) basically overworked and underpaid child labourers, fully controlled by their management company Amuse. It really pisses me off!

@@egodreas Then again maybe she had health issues she wasn't able to recover from during the 8 or 9 months she was absent but was still officially a member of the band after missing Legend S under the advice of her doctor and she eventually decided to leave as she was not well enough to perform. There is more evidence for that (albeit very little evidence) than for her being fired (zero evidence, just another conspiracy theory). All I said in my original comment was what is known from what little we were told. Anything else is pure speculation based on what - hearsay of how the Idol industry works, how everybody is exploited or enslaved under horrible contracts, not allowed to do anything or have a private life and whatever else. Where is the evidence that is how Amuse treat their artists or that they either are or were ever overworked or underpaid - by all accounts they are a very benevolent employer and have no reputation for any of the things you say they are guilty of nor are there any instances of them suing any of their Idols for breach of contract or fining them for anything. Are they even considered or employed as Idols any more since they split from Sakura Gakuin - I think probably not, but we don't know. Why get pissed off when you can't possibly know if any of your suspicions are factual. All we know that we can criticise Amuse for with any degree of knowledge or certainty is extremely bad communication with the fans.

@@Grington300 You are right, we can't know for sure. But the lack of information is exactly what makes it so suspicious. I have no information on Yui's case specifically, but that the idol industry uses the conceit of "health issues" when they fire artists is common knowledge. As are the insane contracts that most idols work under, and the lawsuits that the management companies file against them for breach of said contracts. There is very little an idol can do about these things though, as this billion dollar industry is considered an "after school activity" and not a proper job. But that is all about the idol industry in general. I freely admit that I have no direct knowledge about Babymetals contract at even much about Amuse as a company. They might very well have transitioned away from that business model by now. But I see no evidence of this. Everything about how Babymetal is managed screams idol production. As a big fan of their music, I really hope that I am wrong.

@@egodreas That's fair enough - I may take things at face value, but without anything to actually show I'm wrong to do so I just leave it at that. I believe one of them (Yui or Moa, I can't remember which) was told by her mother that her school grades came first and if they started to drop she would be taken out of Babymetal ... I think that suggests they were not under some sort of child labour contract or not enjoying doing what they were doing.

​@@Grington300 And I don't want to be too cynical, but I'm pretty sure you've never heard Moa or Yui say anything that they weren't explicitly permitted by Amuse to say, and Amuse would very much like them to say things just like that. All idols have a contractual obligation to project wholesome values. If she were to say that all the hard work with Babymetal made her grades suffer, she would soon find herself having "health issues" and being banned from talking to the press :-)

There have only two members since 2018. Yui-metal left for health reason in 2018. Since then a roster of three girls -known as the avengers- has filled Yui's spot. This song was only released on the Japanese album, however videos of them performing it in the West was so popular that they made a video and released it.

As Grington (and whomever before the block) said, the third girl, Yui (aka Yuimetal) left in October 2018 after a year hiatus for undisclosed medical issues. She hadn't healed enough to comeback, so she decided to leave rather than keep things up in the air. People still hope she'll make a return, especially given that she hasn't missed too much during the pandemic. This past Saturday (October 10th) was their ten year anniversary, so some are hoping she might make an appearance in some capacity in the next couple months of things they have planned/announced. As for the name, "BxMxC" is widely considered to mean "BABYMETAL Cypher", but the fans have taken a more fun approach and say it means "Bring Moa Chicken" because she is a notorious foodie, bringing up food in interviews and conversations where it isn't anywhere close to the topic being discussed. The first question in an interview last year was "How are you feeling?" to which she replied, "Hungry! I want some fried chicken!", and thus this song has its name.

Yeah a lot of s*** went down in 2018. Yui left due to health reasons and Mikio Fujioka died from a tragic balcony accident. That would have been enough to kill just about any other band. Since Mikio Fujioka wasn't just anyone here gone far too soon! 💀🔥🎸🔥 Yet come back to put out something as masterful as this. Shows you the depth of this band. Su-Metal is clearly the leader of this group. Her Mastery of her voice continues to break boundaries. I can see why she had to learn Enka to master Megitsune. Let alone this performance. Shanti Shanti Shanti is also quite an accomplishment. Lip Roll as it's called in some Indian music takes some serious f*** skill. As I could never do it myself. С 2018 года их две осталось. Причины до конца не понятны.Собственно в тур по США и Европе в 2017 м они уже поехали вдвоем , в США было официально сказано ,что Юи заболела, в Европе вообще ничего объяснять не стали . В 2018 м Юи Мидзуно официально объявила что уходит из группы. Версии три : первая Юи заболела чем то серьезно, вторая - Она решила начать сольную карьеру , третья - она физически не справляется с возросшими нагрузками. в 2019 м они вроде взяли третью девушку - и на концертах и клипах 2019 года они везде втроем. Но вот этот клип они записали снова вдвоем.

I'm so sorry, but Babymetal lost their core with the exit of Yui and the tragic death of Mikio. I would consider this style as an experiment, but it goes in the wrong direction IMHO...

it's the same as when they started (ok, not 100% the same) but they've always experimented with their music since day 1, and if you know Babymetal you would know the rest of the album doesn't sound at all like this song because every song sounds differente, just like the other albums. BTW, if Yui and Miko were here today that wouldn't change a thing because they are not the ones who write the songs.
