⚡ 💕 / 💃 'DA DA DANCE' is BABYMETAL's tribute to Japanese Dance music of the '90s. Good catch! The "Whoa!" in the background is a sample used in many '90s dance hits. The guest guitarist on the studio version of this song is Tak Matsumoto. He's best known for the group B'z. They're the best selling artists ever in Japan, and one of the best selling worldwide. It was quite a score getting him for the 'Metal Galaxy' album, but as Su has mentioned in interviews, they were able to get all of their first choices as guest artists. Matsumoto was very influential in Japanese Dance music from the '90s, so I think he was a great choice for this track. Moa's lyrics in her rap section are direct references to dance songs of that era. She's literally listing song titles from that era. I was there for the world premiere of this song at the LA Forum on October 11th, 2019. About half the footage in this music video was from that show. The rest is from Japanese concerts later in 2019. BTW, none of the Kami Band members, Eastern or Western, have used face paint since 2019. Since the first show of 2019, both sets of musicians have had masks.

Good reaction. As said in the comments below, the Kami Band have been wearing dark robes since the end of 2017 and masks since 2019. For the US 2019 tour and the UK & Europe 2020 tour the Kami Band of the West (American musicians) were the support. As this video used clips from the Forum in LA in October 2019 (octagonal stage) and Osaka Jo Hall (triangular stage) in Japan in November 2019 it had the West and East Kami Bands ... but it was the studio audio, so you didn't hear either of them. Tak Matsumoto is guitarist and founder of B'z, the most successful Japanese band of all time, so a very big thing for him to agree to guest on this song - he provided the guitar solo on the album for this song.

Nice reaction and great to see you're back with more BM songs. You got a short intro which is played prior to this song usually at live concerts and is also part of the Light Side of the Metal Galaxy album, is called "Future Metal". Certainly this song marks the route of the entire Metal Galaxy 3rd BabyMetal album, you can notice BabyMetal grew up a lot. Tak Matsumoto (B'z guitarist and founder) is the special guest guitars on the album version, you can hear him in the short guitar solo section. Song is inspired in Juliana's Tokyo 90's movement and sound, more like a mix of Hi-NRG, eurobeat and Jpop, rather than edm, Tak Matsumoto was one of the first introducing guitar element back then. Of course SuMetal and the girls isn't afraid to try something new and they did it like a boss, or more like a queen and princess. In this case you're watching an official live compilation, but no live sound (instead they're using the usual studio album sound) from two live shows at least in 2019, LA Forum and Metal Galaxy World Tour in Japan 2019, and one of the avenger is Riho Sayashi, she currently have her own solo career. Kami Band after 2019 are wearing masks. You'll find many more songs with MoaMetal on the spot, this one is just a brief section and she's not even singing live. excellent content dude, most people think that the Kami band is not shown much, but in realty most of their concerts are in small venues where the ladies never go very far from the band, so the whole thing is right there in front of you, I have seen them 4 times, once in a big arena with the moving stage and 3 times in small venues, and by far they are the 4 best live shows that I have ever seen, and I have seen most of the best bands in metal in my 50+ years of metal-headness

Half this video was shot in the LA Forum, I was lucky enough to be there. It was the opening song for their set, and I remember my senses were just overloaded. So much happening, with pyro going off around the arena outside the camera. Incredible show. For the 2019 concert tour, the Kami wore black and Slipknotesque masks.

@@LocalBandSmokeout They've had the Eastern Kami Band (all Japanese members) at all shows in 2021 and 2023 so far. No live shows in 2022 because of COVID. The used both the Eastern and Western Kami Band in 2019 and 2020.

Koba's biggest mistake is putting masks on the Kami Band. HATE IT. Almost anything he does seems brilliant but that is just stupid. Yeah it might be a tribute to SlipKnot or whatever but enough of it. I know it was also done because the addition of the "Western" Kami band, but just allow them to add face paint too. ENOUGH of the masks. We love see the girls have fun and we know they are the focus but we also enjoy seeing Boh and the others enjoy their time with the girls, rocking out, and crowd interactions as well. 🤘🦊🤘
