Thanks for watching!! This is the last video I had where I didn't have a mic yet, so apologies for the audio. But NOW videos will sound at least a little bit better/clearer. Might start with a few of their songs from their first album, but let me know what you think first before I film some new videos!

Honestly, your videos sounds fine to me, didn't even notice! My only suggestion is your voice volume is slightly higher than the music volume, but nothing bad.

Great reaction, thanks! "Megitsune" is one of their most loved songs and their most played live one: 339 times... and counting! The style sub-genre is electronicore, a mix between electronica and metalcore with a hardcore style breakdown. The word "Megitsune" = "me" + "kitsune" which means female + fox so, vixen. Hence the "kitsune" mask play. In Japanese folklore, the "kitsune" is an entity able to transfigure into a human form (mainly into a young lady form) with the objective to deceive men and cause them pain. So they sing that they aren't "kitsunes" but "megitsunes", "pure-hearted maiden-like female foxes", as the lyrics say. As you know, BABYMETAL fans are known collectively as "The ONE" but also "kitsune" / "megitsune" individually. So, you can tell this song is important! It took 36 demos to Takehiro Mamiya best known as Yuyoyuppe (or Yuppemetal), the song's arranger, until Kobametal (their producer) was 100% happy with the final result. It may sound crazy but this is why "Megitsune" is one of their best songs (if not the best). Until next time! 🤘🦊

🍑 ⚡ 💕 / 🦊 ⛩ Megitsune is still my favorite BABYMETAL song, music video and choreography. Su has mentioned that this is her favorite song, even though it's a difficult one for her to sing live. Megitsune has been performed live more than any other BABYMETAL song, and often comes in at #1 in fan polls for favorite song.

This is one of the best live performances of Megitsune that they have done in a long time. I was lucky enough to be there in the crowd for this performance and the crowd absolutely went off. I was in the pit yelling "Sore!" and jumping up and down like a maniac. The whole PIA Arena show was super hyped because it was the officials reveal of the new Babymetal and the induction of Momometal into the group so the whole show had the feeling of a celebration. Megitsune was the second song of the night on this occasion. They opened the show with The Legend, which isn't really a song that lends itself to having a break to talk to the crowd like Megitsune does. Megitsune is usually played early in the show because it gets the crowd hyped and the welcome to the show fits into it nicely.

6:57 OH MY GOD This is the first time I've ever heard someone mention this!!! That is a technique she recently started to use (2021 onwards) and it adds so much texture to her singing! In this case she used it for the "m" sound but she obviously does it with different sounds as well. Please check out her Akatsuki performance in the Budokan (2021). You'll absolutely LOVE it since you pay so much attention to the vocals. It's full of little nuances like that

I totally agree about Su's facial expressions. She is mesmerizing. One thing she does that I always notice is, she'll sing a line, then turn her head to the right and stare off into space for a few seconds. I think most singers would look down at that point but Su's side ways stares looks almost defiant. It's cool.

Yes in a way the song that really brought the girls into Babymetal, all previous Songs were more or less negotiations how far into metal he would movevthem next. But this totally changed fairy tale brought them finally into the World of Babymetal. Although the composer was not to impressedbthat this song got the final Ok with Version 33. But this song is still the Controller of each show. Sge sings this song quietly over her Headset to Check how the condition of her voice would be this evening. According to Su this is still her technical most difficult song.

Great reaction. At this concert this was actually the second song, but the first chance Su got to talk to the audience. First song was 'The Legend' which is a slow anthem sort of song, so not the sort of song where Su could welcome everybody. 'Megitsune' is a big favourite, often coming top in fan polls and it is the song they have played live more times than any other. This audience was great ... I think my favourite BABYMETAL audience for this song was at the Red Fox Festival performance in 2017 - they had an exclusive all female audience (yes, it is a female empowerment song). 'Megitsune' was the first single they released after splitting from the parent group Sakura Gakuin to become an independent band in their own right - that was in 2013 - the official video was released when Su-metal was 15, Yuimetal and Moametal were 13, about to turn 14. 'Megitsune' is also arguably the song that showcases better than most what BABYMETAL are about and one that truly reflects their Japanese culture the best starting with the sound of the traditional instruments (shamisen or koto, you decide which) in the intro and the lyrics about women being compared to foxes (kitsune - which also explains the fox mask Su had🦊) which, in Japanese mythology, are able to shape shift and take human form in order to deceive. It is also a bit of a push back against the traditional female role in Japanese society I think, becoming more assertive, less subservient - or maybe it is - whilst also praising and celebrating the women who have played that role over the years for their strength. They are saying that women wearing their make up and hiding their true feelings ("crying at heart, smiling at face") are not trying to deceive anybody, they are simply trying to please everybody - so they are not kitsune (foxes), they are megitsune (female foxes or vixens) - and they are strong. The melody used in the live intro and in the breakdown in the middle of the song is from the very well known Japanese folk song called 'Sakura Sakura' (Cherry Blossoms). When Su spoke a couple of words and did a high kick she said "Otome wa ... nametara ikan zeyo." (Maidens ... shouldn't be underestimated). The last part of this is a famous quote from a Japanese gangster movie said by the daughter of a gang boss.🤘

This was the 2nd song of the night, but was sort of the intro because the first song was just Su and Moa performing The Legend, and that performance was pretty special because this was the last night BM was a duo and the Legend performance was practically Su and Moa performing to each other. So then this song really kicked things off. Enjoyed it!

Great reaction! This is a quintessential Babymetal classic that's played the most live by them (~350 times now or so). Don't know what to react to next? No problem, The One got you covered. Also, they have like 60+ songs lol. *Iine! (Official MV):* ee-neh (iine!). For this one, absolutely do the MV for the "WTF" factor. Also, their 2nd song ever, and they were truly "baby" Babymetal. *Catch Me If You Can (Budokan 2014):* Ultra brutal, ultra cute, hide and seek, band shows off. *Babymetal Death (Legend 1997):* A typical intro song, dressed up as a satanic ritual, and used as an outro at this concert. Babymetal goes hard. #notacult *Akatsuki (Budokan 2014):* .... A "Love Ballad" 😎 *Night Night Burn (Legend Metal Galaxy 2020):* Salsa/Flamenco 💃 *Headbanger (Legend 1997 AND Legend MM versions):* Legend 1997 is Dec 2013's show for Su-metal's 16th birthday. This is a quintessential classic performance of this song. Legend MM is Momometal's 21st BDay concert (Mar 2024), and she does a Babymetal first for a new vocal style live. Enjoy!! 🤘🦊

It would be difficult to translate the lyrics of Megitsune into English. They use old Japanese expressions, and without understanding the culture, it is difficult to convey the meaning and nuances. I hope you can at least understand the impression Japanese people get from the word megitsune, so please look into it!😚 🔥🤘🦊 From🇯🇵

nice reaction, but a couple of constructive comments if I may. 1) you need to increase the volume of the song, it was way to low. 2) you need to fix your audio, maybe get a microphone if you are using the built in mic., you sound like you are talking from the bottom of a deep hole. Edit: should have read your pinned comment before posting. I see now where you said you did get a mic, so I'll amend my comment to just raise the volume of the video. Don't try to talk over the vid, pause if you need to comment

You do a very nice reaction. Very observant with comments to match. I had never consciously noticed that little thing you pointed out in Su's voice before. Just one of the things that make her singing so mesmerrizing. Great comments on her facial expressions too. She is a born entertainer and when she turns it on she just commands the entire Arena. Well done thanks. p.s. I think your intention of sticking to live performances has a lot going for it. Suggestion, it's fairly short but actually wonderful and not played a lot. "Elevator Girl" important do the Japanese version. Whoever did the translation to the English version really lamed them out. In the Japanese version the down elevator goes straight to Hell, yeah that Hell. Link follows: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aIqxn3aoq6yYga8
