I saw this before but always good to see this again. Was watching the Sakura Gakuin graduations from 2011 to 2013. Still have to watch 2014. Su Gave address to graduates in 2011, then graduated in 2012. Moa and Yui address the graduates in 2013 then graduated themselves in 2014. Su's graduation reveals a lot about her and you will have whole new levels of respect for her. Moa steals the spotlight for a bit, of course as she reads her congratulations to Su.

Babymetal is a live show, I think a lot of people who are new to Babymetal do not understand this, like some reactors to the new album have said they don't know why songs like metal kingdom and time wave are on the album and don't view them in context to the live show where they make perfect sense, the albums are simply the sound track to the shows and the videos are just a snap shot of the live shows

Exactly!! I personally don't like that they call them a "band". They're not a band. They are a concept. A performance group. They've taken elements of idol, Broadway, a mixture of different Japanese culture from traditional to modern, choreography, drama, fantastical lore, and mixed it all together into a stage production set to a heavy metal soundtrack and score. The small intimate shows they do with the band, you know like House of Blues, The Wiltern, etc... Those are part of the lore. The adventure, the fight, the small battles. The arena shows are the final battle. The reveal. The culmination of the storyline. It's a freaking genius idea and concept and I have to give it to Koba for the guts to do something like this and the genius to make it work.

I couldn't agree more! Live is where it's at with them. I've said it before and I'm sure I'll say it again: The production levels at their big shows are definitely more theatric than "just a group singing" or anything. The whole production is part of the show and is what makes them stand out! Thanks!

Didn't know you also do reactions to reactions. 🙂 In that case I can HIGHLY recommend the video where Babymetal is reacting to their Megtisune OV. They are so adorable with their comments, their support of the whole project and humming along. I understand that while recording it they often had different parts and weren't able to get and see the whole picture until that time.

I just had to jump on here one more time and say something real quick on Pentatonix doing a Babymetal cover. Back then, NO. There wasn't a song, at least in my opinion, at the time that they could've logically done and make sound good. Now though!! I'd love to see them do Monochrome, or Brand New Day.

They did do the Perfume medley, I've always interpreted it as: they might have been in communication with Amuse and ended up doing a Perfume medley.

Nice reaction. After watching it I wished more bands would do this. That insight of knowing that what you're doing is different from what folks are used to but also what they themselves are used to. Which is why I usually suggest for reactors to start reacting to Babymetal with their early stuff. Growing with them as they learn to love metal many times the reactor grows to love it too. Which is a big reason Koba put Babymetal together to begin with. Some other things that come across here is Su talks fast when she gets pumped up about something. Moa become the foodie of the group. Yui's shyness but when you get her to talk, she does have something to contribute. Not just talking to get lines in. I often wondered where the interpreters were when they did this. While Su being older is the leader of the group and does the most talking. There are parts where she defaulted back to Japanese to explain what she was thinking better. While when asked about other artist Moa jumped right in there with Metallica of course. They have the photos with Kirk to prove it too. lol. That part reminded me of when they were on a tv show in Japan. The host heard they were learning English and decided to give them a test sentence to repeat back. I think it was how are you. Su and Yui responded with rahahrhrrhaarhhrr. Which was hilarious. But Moa clearly repeated what he said. Which in turn I thought was funny when on their last tour. Su and Moa were being interviewed they went without an interpreter and did the whole thing in English. Su was really good and so was Moa. But Moa said she was very nervous about it. Still humble all these years later. Moa was doing fine. Even the interviewer said so. Now I heard Momoko is fluent in English. They're going to tour Europe this spring/summer and are coming to America after that around the fall. More dates are being announced. I hope we get to hear Momoko's English then. I'm sure she'll get a lot of questions now that she is officially part of Babymetal.

I always thought it was kinda cute when they struggled with their English and seemed so proud when they spoke it correctly! I'm glad that a little after I started my journey, I decided that the only way to experience them was to start at the beginning and work your way through! Thanks!

And Moa has changed a lot over the years. Maybe it's because she started so smol. But she's become a metalhead right in front of our eyes. A metalhead who can dance at that. And folks thought the two would never go together. Babymetal just breaking all of the rules. That needed to be broken. Lol

I remember watching the original "KZbinrs react to BABYMETAL" video by the Fine Bros (now REACT channel) when it was first uploaded and that was my FIRST exposure to BABYMETAL. So I really have to thank them for introducing BABYMETAL to me. It was not long after that when the group performed Gimme Chocolate on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert and that was the FIRST time that I saw a whole performance by BABYMETAL. I remember being so confused but loving the Mikio's guitar solo SO MUCH! I remember wondering if this was music meant for Nickelodeon or the Disney channel and would I be weird for liking it since I was in my mid-40's at the time. I remember thinking if this was something I would have to enjoy in secret since it would look weird/bad for an old guy like me watching/listening to what seemed like children's music....so I kind of just forgot about them for a couple years since I was torn by how heavy Gimme Chocolate was but Gimme Chocolate was also too cute for my taste at the time. THEN youtube suggested Akatsuki live at Budokan Black Night....and I was 1000% sold on BABYMETAL! SINCE then I have been deep in the foxhole and listen to BABYMETAL daily, and I try to support as many BABYMETAL reactions as possible. 🤘🦊🤘

This video from FB Bross put me back on track with BM after some years losing their trails. Btw the cute blonde girl you saw there is Lia Marie Johnson, a YT celebrity, actress and singer, she took some bad decisions and end up being ax...busxd by her producer in every way, she did a video called "This is my story" explaining this, you won't recognize her, she looks way different today, fortunately she's fine now and with someone who actually love her. Her story make me realize how lucky are our girls with producers like KobaMetal taking care of them like their own daughters. Anyway keep enjoying this variety videos, there's plenty of more, can't wait for you to reach the frog pit.🐸

Thanks for this reaction. The original KZbinrs react to Babymetal from the 'FBE' was my introduction to Babymetal. Their is also this little gem in the video which you might not notice the first time at 3:31 they move their head in sync, because the choreography is just so ingrained. I don't know where I got it from, but as I remember it Su-metal actually is a fan of Pentatonix. What is interesting, some months later their wasn't a Babymetal medley, but a Perfume medley, which is Babymetal's big sisters at the same company. I wonder if they talked to Amuse and eventually figured out it would be difficult to do a medley of metal music and discussed and ended up at Perfume ? Perfume are from Hiroshima and from the same Actors School Hiroshima and much more famous in Japan than Babymetal, so Su-metal very much looks up to them. Especially in the early days. 12:16 and this is actually goes in mutliple ways, Su-metal especially had almost a on-stage second personality at some point, but this has merge more and more with her off-stage self. We recently had an interview with a 'see you' and the fans around the world all had a moment of gratification or whatever a good word for it is. Let's be very clear: Babymetal was unique when they started, everyone who learns about them thinks they are weird/different not just the US, but around the world including Japan. Even Kobametal was unsure, he spoke with an retired CEO of Amuse and he gave him the advice: if you don't try it, you will always wonder and regret it. And so he tried. Amuse didn't do anything, they allowed him to do the project. Kobametal is the general direction/idea machine, but he he trusts the people he hires to do a task to come up with something interesting, his instructions are usually pretty vague to allow for this creativity. BOH (and Kobametal too) has said in an interview, those who work the hardest are the girls, even at their early age, they commited and they worked hard to deliver it as best as possible. And they made the succces, it wouldn't have been without their efforts.

Nice one, thanks! Ah, Metal Resistance times, good times... I guess, because I didn't discover BABYMETAL until late 2019. But after a crazy discovery process even I can feel nostalgia. What we have learned here: Su can talk non stop, Moa has a weird thing with Su's hair, Yui is... Yui. 😁 Love how humble they are. But sometimes you just need to say things like this: (SU-METAL in 2023 PMC vol 27 referring to "team BABYMETAL" and the Makuhari concerts) "First of all, a production and stage set like that is definitely extraordinary (laughs). In my humble opinion, most groups would find it very difficult to do what we did at Makuhari even if they had the budget". FACTS. 🤘🦊
