BABYMONSTER - 'BATTER UP' M/V REACTION

For real, if we had any doubt that they're from YG, they quickly shut these down! Like I said, DNA don't lie and sometimes, you don't even need a DNA test to know, here for exemple! This screams of YG! From the beat, to the flow, to the MV, to the choreo, to the sets, to the structure of the song, the attitude etc.! Which is why I said that even though, they just debuted and I'm not that familiar with the, it still felt incredibly familiar and totally not out of reach! That said, I have to admit I was hoping for more vocals! This is actually something I said in my hour long dedicated video to BAEMON, but I shared that I wished they'd go for something more RnB maybe that would allow their vocals to shine because they're a power house when it comes to vocals and I wanted them to really push that forward. I supposed they opted for ta more performance base debut with a very YG sound that really does feel like a ritual of passage of sort, them receiving the batton and perpetuating the tradition! Which in itself is not a bad thing, I love it even! I truly hope to see them be able to refine their BAEMON identity within this YG DNA in the future though so that they can really grow as themselves and have their own flavor! Otherwise, the girls did phenomenal, the vocals are vocaling lol Their voices are so unique that each of them stand out! The raps are well ... they're from YG so what can I say nsnsns speaks for itself! And facial expressions got so much better as well! Great debut overall but still hoping for more vocals next time!

The wole Ahyeon situation: Honestly i think the reason why they pushed the debut back from stepember is because they hoped that Ahyeon will recover, in the end she didn't, and i think they decided to not delay the debut any longer, because of a) contracts of other members b) just a hype would slowly die more and more. They decided to debut them with a single, with originaly was suppose to be an album with couple of songs, acording to articles that YG was speaking to, they said that they secured NUMEROUS amount of trackS. And the reason why they aren't clear with Ahyeon situation is because they don't even know themselfs when or IF she will recover, thats why they never said clear that 1. She's on hiatus 2. She's leaving, and they never officialy stated that she's leaving, like they did with pre-debut TREASURE member Ha-Yoonbin Of course YG wants Ahyeon to comeback, because that would be massive hit to the group if Ahyeon wouldn't be in Babymonster, i think it's like Jennie would leave blackpink, she was suppose to be face and center of the group Yang Hyunsuk prepared this group for 5 years, he wrote his name under this group as an executive producer and main producer, we can say a lot bad about him, but i genuinly believe that he has strong plans for this group, considered the fact that, WINNER, IKON, TREASURE lost it's members he 100% considered the fact that something might happen to the member's health or mental health especially since they're so young So in the end i think, that YG still have hopes for Ahyeon's comeback, and as soon as she recovers and she'll be ready we will see BABYMONSTER OT7 comeback with an album (january, february 100%) edit: Yeah, YG confirmed that they don't have scheduled promotions for batter up, it just screams that they're waiting for Ahyeon, i understand, but at the same time kinda feel unfair for other 6 girls?

There a lot of easter eggs in this song for us YG stans, there are tributes to BP, Big Bang, Treasure, Akmu, Lisa like you mentioned. Its the baby of the family giving an homage to their seniors and adding their flavor and letting the world know they are proud to be from YG. They will come out with ballads and R & B songs, I am sure soon enough but in a time saturated with very talented other GG- their strength is their YG DNA because there is a market for it. I feel nolstagic when I listen to it and my daughter who did not experience 2ne1 or BP now gets to be a fan too of the YG DNA.

Honestly my thought on their debut is the debut date was initially pushed back because of Ahyeon and they might've waited for her and they might have had a problem picking the songs because they might have chosen another one other Batter Up because it would suit the 7 members but then Ahyeon could not join the debut any moment soon that's why they changed plans last minute and re-do the plans? Re-record and choregraphy. But these are the story I've made with myself. And the longer YG would drag the debut date the more they would be hated but of course fans would not understand that. This debut strategy is still good they made an impact and they will more once Ahyeon joins. That's another reason that the group name would make a noise.

So I don't know if you can see my comment in this sea of comments but still I'm going to write it cos we have a connection..... Connection of being a YG artists fan for long time (I'm here since 2008) So, I know that all this "health issues" can get really really sad ending (specially if it's YG) but I got different feelings this time.. reason - YG already tried to delay debut because of they probably wanted to debut all 7 of them togather but it wasn't possible from now on because if you're following k-pop news recently then you'd know that 1. YG stocks were all time low because of blackpink's uncertain future, but still they tried to hold on babymonster until all members are fit to debut....... Until 2. YG (YHS) got imprisoned for 6 months and that really really dented companies reputation. So they absolutely didn't have any option but to debut Babymonster as 6 members group. Now, why I have different (positive) feeling about Ahyeon's situation? Because YG already delayed the debut and tried their best to wait for her... And most importantly, I haven't seen YG responding to the fake rumours of member's potential leaving this fast.. ever. Like they responded in JUST 3-4 hours. Also we can see few hints that YG is trying to show us that "someone" is missing from the M/V teaser.

To answer your question YG moved the debut date too long already, and the fans are losing interest if YG will push it a little more longer. Most likely, as what the news reported that Babymonster finished the MV back in September and then have to change and moved the debut Nov, most likely because Ahyeon fell sick, and they can't move it a little more since the announcement has been made.😊

Most reasons regarding the isssue are hypothetical. So if you are asking why they did not wait for Ahyeon to get better, hypothetically it is because the debut are already delayed and the contract with the sponsors are already in active status. The delayed may also be because of waiting for Ahyeon to recover. So if they wait till next year to debut BM, the label may incur a penalty, plus the dissatisfaction of impatient fans.

The song was ok, it's catchy. I was hoping for something different. I feel the same as you. They tried to do too much in one song, I felt it was a bit messy. They will get better, they are very talented. Hopefully YG takes some of the feedback and uses it wisely. Love your reactions.
