It's their pre-release for their full album coming in the Fall that's why it felt like it was hinting at something more at the end.

I think the hook was deliberate for the pre-release purpose. I also was not sure on the first listen but it did grow on me after a few more listens. Lets be real, the hook is for tik-tok and youtube shorts & live concerts. But getting past that the song is great. Looking forward to the full album later this year.

@@mrn.w.a.6344 no, a lot of songs take time to get used to, especially for someone like me. Very rarely do I enjoy a song on first listen. Also, it didn’t take 20 plays as by that point I’d drop the song.

@@mrn.w.a.6344 and I mean I wouldn’t say it’s not good. I’d just come to a conclusion that it’s not my cup of tea. Not liking a song doesn’t have to mean it’s bad. Music can’t be objectively bad because it’s subjective at the end of the day.

The beginning beat is repeated at the end. Forever. It represents a full circle. Cinderella theme. A silver stiletto dropped on stage is returned at the front door with a special invite. The central dreamer is Pharita shown waking up on the bed. Pharita was a child catwalk model with the potential and the dream to become a runway supermodel. "401" probably related to 04/01/2024, debut date for OT7. I know the debut date is argued but 4/1 is the date that YG is going with.

Song itself is good. Insanely talented each of them. Still think only one other group in their gen has a rap line that is on par with them - Asa & Ruka & Ahyeon are simply special. BUT I do wish they had let that opening beat, the one in the first 30-40 seconds breathe more. I didn’t really care for the disco-ish turn but I know a lot like that so I’m happy for those that vibe with it. But man, that opening beat…would love to see a remix where it is on display more.

The rap line has so much potential but they need better writers.. So many things rhyme with "C'est la vide" and they chose the alphabet.. Second verse was better but I think it was because of their cadence. I had the same issue in their last two joints, "Vroom Vroom" really 🤣. . Seems like a waste of talent imo...

@@xxsugarbeannxx5211 yea there is. The rap line has talent and lots of potential, specially whoever it was on the 2nd rap verse with the faster choppy cadence, but they have sorry ass writers. Hence the "waste of talent" comment. They need better writers. Again it's my opinion.

@@xxsugarbeannxx5211 I'm a Hip-hop head myself, not a KPOP fan at ALL and don't get them either. Only song of BM I kind of like is the Charlie Puth one. When rapping is thrown into the mix, there will be opinions specially from the Hip-hop community. Speaking from a lyrical perspective, the writing for the rapline is weak and has been since their debut IMO. I don't get paid to write for them, but trust me I could. I battle rapped for over 15 years.
