Bach 19037 Stradivarius Series 50th Anniversary Bb Trumpet 190S37
The 180 Series uses a 1 piece valve casing made entirely out of brass. The 190 Series uses a valve casing from the Artisan Series trumpets that is a 2 piece valve casing that uses Nickel-Silver instead of brass for the upper baluster of the valve casing. Using nickel-silver here increases the mass of the trumpet at a spot that will not negatively impact the overall vibration and response of the trumpet. Instead, this mass simply helps to add a richer core to the tone of the trumpet. This is how the older vintage Mt. Vernon Bach's were made.
The other differences in the 190 series are a slightly larger bell diameter, a side-seamed bell (like the older horns) and the smaller vintage style braces. The 190 Series also includes 2 sets of valve guides, 1 in brass and the other in nylon. 190 Series models come with a Bach 3C mouthpiece and a special edition case (red fabric and 50th celebration badge).

Nice to hear the Charlier Etude right out of the gate. I really want one of those 190 50th anniversary horns. I literally wore out my 37. Played it to death. I actually had a funeral for it and buried it in my backyard. It was sad. I played all over the place with that horn. Now, I have grieved and it is time to move on with a new horn.

I really appreciate your channel! You know, people always buy from folks they like. If I was in the market right now, I'd certainly buy a trumpet from you. I believe that your approach to "consultive sales" is lost in today's market. I for one appreciate it.

Very Nice Steve. My go too horn is a 1982 Bach with a 43 bell and 25 lead. These bells look different on these horns. They look a bit more of a constant wider flair than my 43.

I am looking seriously at this model. My biggest question is lacquer vs. silver.... do you find that the lacquer hurts the sound? I know people used to say that lacquer dampens the sound, but I don't know if this is still really true with modern manufacturing techniques. I love the look of the lacquer, and that's what I would love to get if the sound is not ruined.
@HornTrader
@HornTrader 8 жыл бұрын
+Justin Dickson The lacquer does not "RUIN" the sound. Scientific test can measure things like volume and tone. Think of the trumpets finish as a flavor. Silver, Lacquer, Gold, all might feel slightly different to the performer but I think you would need the ears of a Bat to discern any difference in sound. My personal favorite is the lacquer as well. They look beautiful and the playing is gorgeous. Right now Bach is giving a $100 discount on all NEW horns purchased before Jan 15th 2016.

If you look at my past "likes" on your channel you will see plenty of Bach's on that "like" list so no Bach hater here. The trumpet sounds great in your hands as do all the trumpets you play on your channel. A lot of favorite trumpets are Bach's and if you look at your channel alone I have liked some of your more rare items. 1) Nothing stopping Selmer from building them as they did 50+ years ago Selmer cheapened the design, broke the back of the union and raised prices no one else did that for Selmer! 2) No innovation at all they are still using the same leadpipes and bell profiles that Vincent Bach developed over a 100 years ago. Their only innovation has been to cheapen the design and then return to it after 50 years. Prior to them bringing out the Commercial model you and I could not order a Bach Strad with a 1 bell, french bead and say a 43 pipe. No amount of money would have allowed you to order that combo. 3)Even during Vincent Bach's time we know that occasionally materials other then cartridge brass 70/30 and gold brass 80%+ where used because we have seen rare bronze and red brass NY belled models so even the Mariachi having a Bronze 43 bell is not really new. 4) They need to learn basic marketing! You do not shoot your cash cow in the foot by making them look like dogs by releasing an even more premium line that is more professional and more exclusive with the same "Stradivarius" name on them! That is why Toyota has Lexus, GM has Cadillac, Nissan owns Infiniti 5) Everything I said about doing a custom ordered CarolBrass with any materials, heat treat, bore size, brace location for 1/2 the price was also true. Is their anything in the above 5 points that is un-true? You have in the past even said " Wow this CarolBrass blows Bach and Yamaha away!" as someone else pointed out. Words have meaning. I am a huge fan of your channel and have been a huge fan for a long time. 99.9% of what I have ever said has been nothing but praise for you! I have even asked you to release a CD.

+Gary Waite It cost 2X-3X more! LOL Horn Trader has a few video's of him playing CB horns. The early ones are of student models so make sure you are aware of what he is playing. Also there are plenty of other really good trumpet players like Trent Austin(sp) on you tube playing just about every model of CB trumpet. Their is also an audio only clip of a guy in Spain I think it is A-B-C comparing I think early Elkhart or NY Bach to two different CarolBrass trumpets over and over again for like 15 minutes in a concert hall and I think he is a professional musician. If you look at the fanciest CarolBrass with all of the high end metal work and contrasting trim and add a bronze or copper bell to it you will still be at 1/2 the price of the Bach Anniversary model,Artisan,Mariachi etc....
