Amazing instrument, it's sound with a powerful clarity.. the rotor sistema makes look exclusive... I want this one

I just purchased this model with yellow bell and standard slide and must say the resistance is awesome because it places the sound out front of the bell. I've played mine 5-6 hours today and cannot put her down! Sensational horn! Works great with a custom Schilke Greenhoe S2 mouthpiece. She is a ferrari!Ferrari! My guess is that with time the instrument will grow more and more energetic and resonant. Wish I found this trombone 40 years ago.

I consider to buy one myself. Some reason for your choise regarding type of brass and slide?

Bach Stradivarius trombones seem designed for efficient projection with the one-piece lightweight yellow brass bell, as opposed to the Conn 88H with its two-piece medium-weight rose brass bell. One is more for projection, the other more for soloing and smaller groups.

I like the sound you make on this trombone. How do think it compares to a normal LT42BG?
@SchmittMusicTromboneShop6 жыл бұрын
It's quite a bit different to me. I think the Open-flow valve gives a more colorful sound; it doesn't have the typical Bach Halo around the outside of the sound and it doesn't necessarily have the same stability at high dynamics. To me it is a bit more of a European sound but especially when paired with a 50 slide it has the potential for some serious decibels...

On my old straight trombone I could play up to the high C sharp but when I try to play the high a flat I can’t even though I could play it on my straight trombone. Could it be with my lips or not enough air or does the note not speak well with the instrument

More air and faster air. Mess with raising your tongue placement to increase air speed so you dont need to work so hard from the embouchure directly

1st get your basic sound established out front of the bell and out of the throat. As you ascend focus on maintaining a resonant sound and do not focus on 'how to' thoughts which only sends less and less signal to your motor functions. Keep a resonant sound paramount.

In a certain respect I can hear the Centennial having a touch of the Conn sound; there’s a little bit different color then the standard Bach setup...

From what I’ve heard not a lot of people like the conn that much

How do the lt42bog and 42bof compare? I'd presume the gold brass sounds warmer, but this comes with a nickel silver slide, which might make it more focused... Also is it any loser to the warmer sounding Conn 88HO than the normal 42BO

What are the excerpts you play in this video I know the tuba mirum but can put a name to the other one right now

The first one is from a Telemann Fantasy and the third excerpt is from Mahler 3; a classic! Thanks for listening!

Great video, Keith. Personally, I would have liked a little more information about the valve. I hear it's similar to the old King 4B valve. If it is, that would be a great selling point.
