An element of the visualizations I appreciate is how easy it makes it for me to pick out any element I'm hearing by seeing it. Training my ear to pick out middle frequencies is especially useful as I used to have quite some trouble with that.

This is an excellent way of demonstrating the multiple voices in contrapunctical music.

I really like his showing of the various fugues, easy to see the melody move from voice to voice.

There’s a really Enjoyable modulation near the end of the fugue (after reintroduction of the first theme). Gets me every time. Thank you for this

I remember in a comment on an earlier video you suggested this would be a candidate for Bach’s ‘greatest’ fugue :)
@smalin4 жыл бұрын
It's definitely toward the top of the list.

@@smalin I would add the permutation fugue in the opening movement of BWV 76 to the top of that list, but I think probably like you that nothing can quite top Contrapunctus XIV

absolutely love this piece (the fantasia in particular)! are there any other bach pieces like this you'd recommend?
@smalin4 жыл бұрын
It depends. What is it about the fantasia that you like?
@HyShroomOfficial4 жыл бұрын
@@smalin Well I love that the contrapuntal texture of the fantasia makes it sound like a fugue, if that makes sense. I'm not the original commenter, though.

Mr. Malinowski, I love your animations!! Would it be possible for you to animate the whole part from "Und siehe da der Vorhang im Tempel zerris" up to "Zerfliesse mein Herze" from Bach's St. John's passion? Saludos desde México 🇲🇽

I've done a few like that ... kzbin.info/aero/PLtj_HurkS7ZzP_nhJRuHqjWIK-4-DCEX- ... but it's a lot of work, and not something I'm interested in, so I'm more likely to leave that kind of thing to other people.

- This is just an unsolicited plug for the artist. Please contribute or commission one of his works - if he accepts them. My best guess is that this takes a great deal of time and requires special programs and equipment to design these beautiful visualizations. Thank you smalin!

"One must require from each one the duty which each one can perform," the king went on. "Accepted authority rests first of all on reason. If you ordered your people to go and throw themselves into the sea, they would rise up in revolution. I have the right to require obedience because my orders are reasonable."

I have an idea (special April 1st) : Beethoven - Für Elise, except after a moment, it switches to this stupid Big Chungus song (They both share a particular note).
