This was my piece on my last singing final in front of the jury while i was studying at conservatory. I prepared very hard for the finals. On the day of the final, in the morning, i learnt that my lovely grandmother who raised me had died. I forced myself so hard to finish the singing in the final, but i couldn't help myself but burst into tears in front of the jury. Cried myself out of the room. It was the hardest day of my life. You just can't see what life will bring you or when you will face your biggest fears. I didnt care if i needed to study 1 year more, rest in piece grandma, i love you.

Very nice! I love the soprano, very clear and not screechy at all, as many are in Quia Respexit. Omnes Generationes was extremely good I think, and as a singer myself who has performed this a number of times, I know first how difficult it is to do. Exceptional bass support and the overall tempo was just about perfect. Excellent! Thanks so much for posting, I would love to hear the other movements!

"Behold, from henceforth, all generations shall call me blessed." Because it is Latin, the subject of the sentence, "all generations," can go at the end of the sentence. This enables Bach to bring in his version of "all generations" (the entire choir) right at the end of the solo. They are saying "Everyone, everyone, all generations!" This is word painting. It is no wonder that some people tear up when the choir comes in so dramatically. I think the rapid tempo is for emphasis that it is everyone, everyone.

"Magnificat / anima mea Dominum": so many times we have listened to it in various renditions, from Gregorian chant (its most fitting language) to contemporary music. The Magnificat in D major, BWV 243 for soloists, choir, and orchestra by J. S. Bach, about three centuries after its first performance at the Thomaskirche in Leipzig on July 2, 1723, is one of the most beautiful compositions of Bach's sacred output, and also among the easiest to listen to. The text is taken from the Gospel of Luke (1:39-55), which encapsulates Mary's response to her cousin Elizabeth who greeted her as the mother of Jesus. It is a wonder so contagious that in some respects, it seems like witnessing Mary's greatest astonishment in her exultation to God: "because he has looked with favor on the lowliness of his servant" (quia respexit humilitatem ancillae suae), as well articulated in the soprano aria, in a continuous dialogue rich in pathos intertwined with the timbral sweetness of the oboe d'amore. To govern this splendid score is the principle of varietas. Unity in multiplicity is the criterion of structural secret. Unity without the many is tedious, multiplicity without unity is frightening, unity in variety or variety in unity is wonderful. Varied delights, as evidenced by the instrumentation of an edition from 1732-35: 2 Sopranos, Alto, Tenor, Bass; 3 Trumpets, Timpani; 2 Transverse Flutes; 2 Oboes; 2 Violins; Viola and Continuo. In the face of such a work in which Bach is the master of sonic perfection and theology, this monument of sacred music could not go unnoticed by "The Israel Camerata Jerusalem," in one of the most beautiful interpretations. Avren Biron's direction is very scrupulous, profound, and philological; the Jerusalem ensemble plays with such cantabile, articulation of sounds, and phrasing so symbiotic with the singers as to seem like additional voices. Also noteworthy: the text is sung in Latin as is the case with the Mass in B minor and not for other Bach works; choice of the most appropriate tempo, understanding of the text, necessary pathos to move the affects (Affekten lehre) within the rhetoric to make it close to human language. The Suscepit Israel (22:19) is more than a trio, it is a 'triptych' for two sopranos and contralto joined by two oboes in unison and the continuo, offering an interesting timbral light. (cf. Salvatore dell'Atti)

So these words: ancillae, ecce, I hear are pronounced differently in other recordings, it should sound like what? I am confused.
@gtnsteve16 жыл бұрын
German Latin is pronounced differently from Italian Latin. Ecce is Etse (German) and Eche (Latin. Similarly, Antsille vs Anchille. Vowels are also diifferently pronounced. I have sung this both ways, much prefer the Italian.

me agrada mucho como se escucha su voz con vibrato moderado, muy sutil, muy coherente con el estilo, en lo particular me molesta un poco el vibrato de los cantantes, si alguien puede recomendarme interpretes que canten sin vibrato se los agradecería.
@brendamotte37394 жыл бұрын
No es vibrato son semicorcheas en su mayoría, es la rítmica. Debe sonar así
@jaimealejandrogomezamezcua21604 жыл бұрын
