WTC's are not difficult technically. But they are very difficult to artistically.
@RafaelGarcia-ue6uc2 жыл бұрын
@@insearchofpeace2151 You really think so?? I've always thought a lot of the WTC's preludes and fugues are still of comparable difficulty to the easier of the Chopin etudes. I find getting dynamics and articulation right without pedal to be really difficult. I'm just curious because maybe after enough practice Bach feels technically easy.

Love it! Seems you have as much ease at playing Bach than you have at classical or romantic composers. For the fugue, I think it would be even better if you could put the different voices in different colors to highlight the counterpoint? It'd be really interesting:) Here's a request for some future baroque, Bach's Capriccio from the second Partita ! I'd love to head your interpretation of it.

the thing is that in Bach's times, D flat major and C sharp major were two different tonality (the key was the same though)
@ludwig40294 жыл бұрын
@@marcoponzio1644 i wonder why
@marcoponzio16444 жыл бұрын
@@ludwig4029 because there was a different temperament (the intervals beetween two notes was different), where you could get the same note in 2 or more ways (i think that the same note could go higher an higher (our ears think like this, but in reality the note was just the same). @Nate B. When I was 18 and just about to finish my Abitur, I originally wanted to study music theory. My dad told me, that if I were to do that, I shall never even think about getting financial support from him. It goes without saying, that I was pretty deprived during the rest of the day, because I couldn't follow my dreams. But that was no problem. After I cried myself to sleep for hours I finally entered my dreams. And there he was, J.S. Bach. And he revealed to me, that I shouldn't study music theory anyways. He told me, that if I want to become a good composer, I should study physics. And thus I started studying physics. And shortly after I started that, a pianist played one of my pieces for a fan composition project, which I've seen as confirmation. I wasn't really a fan of Bach before he appeared in my dreams. I just occasionally listened to WTK I and II. After that dream, he became my life. My essence. My will. Whenever I am about to give up on my studies and on composing, I just think back to that dream. And that fills me with new energy to continue the road I've chosen. It's really energy taking and I only get up to 3h or 4h of sleep per day, because the assignments are so hard, but I feel fulfilled and I've been kinda successful until now with my studies.

Well, the first book of the Well Tempered Clavier has one prelude and fugue where the prelude is written in Eb minor and the fugue in D# minor. No doubt just to annoy the performer, who has to suddenly switch from reading 6 flats to reading 6 sharps for no particular reason.
