I just listened to a number of violin recordings of the Bach and this interpretation/transcription is really superior in clarity, interpretation, and speed. Too bad the clarinet wasn’t around and played like this when Bach was alive.

Wow! About the tone of this instrument, from the recording imho it does sound bright on the upper register but not too much but of course you know how to control the sound so it sounds very homogeneous!! A question... in your opinion, what Buffet bb clarinet has the darkest tone?

@@marcoc.8386 well, it's not so much about the entire instrument that would give a dark tone. That's more dependant on the mouth to clarinet interface (reed strength, mpc, ligature). Although I feel like too many people are concerned with getting a dark sound! Mr Baldeyrou's tone is actually quite ideal, right between brighter and dark

en fait, ce qui me gêne, ce sont les personnes qui mettent un pouce gris(baissé) .......... je ne vois pas où est le problème !! TOUT y est ! : son exceptionnel , douceur de l'aigu surtout dans ce type de pièce, embouchure en béton (en kevlar même :) ), rapidité d'exécution, en respiration continue ! (oh my god ! ) et techniquement d'une maitrise sans pareil . ..... bref, s'ils sont capables de faire pareils, qu'ils postent leurs vidéos :):) ...
