Sanel .. wow. Fingerings and interpretation - outstanding!

The fugue (BWV 1001) is possible one of my most favourite classical pieces of all time, the overlaying of the deceptively simple motif makes for a grand exposition of harmony and spatial construction in a self-contained movement.

Bach is the master of spiritual elevation music. It’s really amazing to hear such music played so well by these superb guitarists with these great guitars. I stopped what I was doing just to pay attention to this. Thank you!

Katarzyna brings her technical excellence & fully engaged emotion to this fugue - beautiful; the Rothel sounds excellent in supporting her interpretation.

M. Cvirn brings out the special lyric dignity of this siciliana, as we might assume it was intended an aristocratic banquet; very fine technique & feeling. The Giovanetti has grand "orchestral" range, in pitch & dynamics.

Quand Stephanie Jones joue, il semble qu'une volée d'oiseaux chantants s'échappe de sa guitare; très beau ! J'aime beaucoup, aussi, la virtuosité de Sanel Redžić.

M. Redzic gives us here a presto that has that special quality of excitement - where rushing the notes, technically imperfect, perhaps, creates a kind of joyful intensity; it is well-supported here by the Vowinkel guitar, ringing like a bell. Horowitz once spoke of a quality of legato at any tempo ("... all the great pianists have it" - no false modesty from the maestro); or, listen to Carlos Montoya in Flamenco solos(?). Thanks to all.

wonderful playing. Timid right hand, so quiet there are times when her breathing competes with the guitar sound. I think more volume would be nice.

Everyone worried about playing a less than perfect note these days, the interpretation is not their full concentration :( Good players but I wish they could be allowed to focus solely on the music. However, Aljaz (bloke in white) did well.

Another astonishment from Stephanie Jones - punkette personality, perhaps, but PreRaphaelite sensitivity in this piece; beautifully done. Something amiss in the audio engineering: twangy/clangy sound that I doubt exists live in the fine Bruch guitar.

Would like to hear the Giovanetti in the hands of Jones. In the example, it just sounds muddy in the low mids. Different techniques, different sounds from the instrument.
