One of the best things about Bach is that he wrote so much music that you're guaranteed to find something you haven't heard yet. This is one of those pieces for me. And the fact that it's not one of the more well known cantatas has no bearing on the quality of the music. Just amazing - especially that startingly cooll Bass aria! Thanks NBS!

The air between instruments should be recorded from accurate microphones take_up and lossless reproduction on state-of-art hi-fi system where the correct loudspeakers disposition. Reverberation can be built into post production from multitrack input microphones. This is an accurate production for this type on channel (bit ratereduction forYT).

@@omi_god You are completely wrong! MPEG layer 3 is a bit reducing algorithm to reducing data weight of file music. It is designed to minimize the space on memory or data trasmission on media channel. Enjoy to you for *your* mp3 hearings.
@endreszatmari2302 Жыл бұрын
You are confusing the sampling rate with file formats. While it is true that 44.1 kHz sampling rate LOSSLESS audio can be perfectly decoded to the original waveform, a lossy compression like MP3 will never be capable of this, because by definition it is lossy, i. e. some tiny bits of the original signal are lost forever. By the way, KZbin does not use MP3 encoding but a similar lossy format.

@herrickinman93032 жыл бұрын
I assume you're referring to the opening chorus. The deliberately slow, and consequently enigmatic, tempo chosen by the director exaggerates the contrapuntal dissonances, encouraging your perception that it's a "modern, almost not baroque" composition. The Bach-Stiftung's performance of the same chorus, at a slightly faster tempo and with fewer instruments and singers, gives a very different and, IMO, more accurate rendering of the composer's intentions. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rYHFdpWOntOMjsk

Once again, the oboes/English horns are the fixed point, around which singers and the orchestra revolve....what a happy choice, though I, a flutist and therefore not one of the lucky few! The whole ensemble is wonderful, and the singers are amazing!
@herrickinman93032 жыл бұрын
They're baroque oboes, not English horns. And they are not "the fixed point, around which singers and the orchestra revolve." The chorale movement opens with the upper strings in unison intoning the first line of the cantus firmus "O Haupt voll Blut und Wunden" in long notes. The cantus firmus is what the entire movement "revolves" around. The oboes open with a 1-measure motif that is an abbreviated, diminshed version of opening line of the cantus firmus introduced by the upper strings in unison and later by the bass singers. The upper voices enter with a fugato on a motif derived from the 1st line of the cantus firmus. The entire movement is a setting of the cantus firmus.

Oh Lord, me a poor sinner do not chastise in your scorn, your intense fury do lessen lest I be doomed. Oh Lord, would that you forgive me my sins and be merciful that I might live eternally escaping the pain of hell. 2. Oh heal me, you physician of the soul, I am quite ill and feeble; one can count my bones so pathetically has my hardship, my cross and suffering ravished me; my face is fully swollen from tears which like rushing torrents roll down my cheeks. My soul is worried and anxious with fear; oh, you Lord, why so long? 3. Liebster Jesu, ists dein Wille, so erfreu mein Angesicht! Comfort my soul within me, Jesus, lest I sink into death, help me, help me by your goodness, out of my soul's great agony! For in death all is still, there one is not mindful of you. Dearest Jesus, if it is your will, then cheer my countenance! 4. I am weary from groaning, my spirit lacks both power and might, for the whole night through I often with no rest for the soul nor peace lie in excessive sweat and tears. I almost fret myself to death and am aged from grieving, for my anxiety is manifold. 5. ARIA (Baß) Weicht, all ihr Übeltäter, mein Jesus tröstet mich! Yield, all you evildoers, my Jesus consoles me! He lets, following tears and weeping, the sun of joy to shine once more; the storm of tribulation averts itself, foes must abruptly fall and their arrows recoil backwards. 6. Glory be unto heaven's throne with high esteem and praise to the Father and to the Son and equally so as well to the Holy Spirit with glory throughout eternity, who will bestow on us all everlasting blessedness.
@mwnyc39762 жыл бұрын
Hello David -- My apologies for not replying to you in Spanish. I hope that either a friend or Google can translate for you. I don't believe this chorale melody appears in Beethoven's Missa Solemnis, but you have certainly heard it in other Bach works and possibly in other music as well. It appears repeatedly in the St. John and St. Matthew Passions, and you can hear it in many other Bach cantatas and in the finale of the Christmas Oratorio. The melody, a common hymn in many Protestant churches, is mostly associated today with Holy Week and the Passion of Jesus Christ. You may know it by its Spanish title, "¡Oh rostro ensangrentado!"; in English, the melody is known as "O sacred head, now wounded", and the most commonly known German title for it is "O Haupt voll Blut und Wunden" ("Oh cabeza, llena de sangre y heridas"). But when the melody was composed by Hans Leo Hassler (probably in 1599, and he published it in a collection in 1601), it wasn't thought of as a sacred hymn at all: the opening words were "Mein G'mut ist mir verwirret von einer Jungfrau zart" ("My mind is confused by a tender young maiden" or "mi mente esta confundida por una tierna doncella"). The melody was first used in a sacred context in 1613 with the German text "Herzlich tut mich verlangen nach einem sel'gen End" ("I do dearly desire a blessed end" or "Deseo de todo corazón un final bendito").
