Amazing stuff 😉. This video and tutorial 44 on musicality has transformed my way of listening to bachata music and thinking of combos. I've finished the beginner class. Now I'll have to recap the combos we've learnt and fit them into the 4x8 framework.

You have explained the different parts of a song nicely. I am a beginner bachata student. I am trying to understand the bachata musicality. Do you have any video that explains the whole musicality including: How to identify the beats especially the no 1, how to move body organs according to the music, the structure of bachata music etc.

Dansatorii Anonimi Do you know a great way to understand musicality ? DVDs videos or something that help , because it's hard for beginners to understand the 12345678 if we don't have Idea about it. What instrument should be the one that let you dance better. Or if I can follow any instrument in the music?

Can you explain what you mean by change and middle please?
@MariusElenaBachata
@MariusElenaBachata 2 жыл бұрын
change - the dancer's count goes something like this 1234 1234 5678 (you see those 1234 1234, that means there was a change in rhythm) middle - the middle of the phrase. Usually 2x8 2x8

Great video!! Question, so when you get to a break, it seems like it's 4 counts, then the counting starts from 1-8 again. So, what do I do in the break. Is it the mambo step? I think right now I dance through the break and continue on my 1-4, yikes.

I just started dancing and feeling the music and matching my moves to the music is the hardest part so far. I'd appreciate your insight on that. Thanks
@MariusElenaBachata
@MariusElenaBachata 7 жыл бұрын
Hello. Glad to help. If you have a specific question it would be easier to help you. But, in general... you need to keep the tempo, just like an army-march... steady for the entire song. Then, the next thing would be to focus on your legs and steps so that later they work on auto-pilot and you can focus on the moves, hands and what-not. Then, learn and hardwire some moves and focus only on music so that you can only feel the music, hear the music and adapt you moves, speed and steps to the music.
@gmkpremier

Thanks for the reply. Right now Im working on learning moves and feeling the music. So far, I find changing rythm during the song a lot harder as beginner lead. I love your tutorials on use them a lot. Thanks for the good work!

How can we find out when there is the change and when there is the break? 4x8 and when the change follows it? And when does the break follow it?
@MariusElenaBachata
@MariusElenaBachata 11 ай бұрын
Hello. To be able to best respond to your question, can you ask again but in more details? You want to know when the change in "rhythm" happens and when the break happens?

@@MariusElenaBachataTnx for your reply. I checked your 2nd video in musicality series and you have responded it there. I wanted to know how to find out what to expect from before, whether a change is coming or a break. My 2nd question is; sometimes we lose the counting and rhythm. How can we start again the counting and get back to rhythm without losing the musicality?

I don't know if you do the musicality videos anymore but I'd love to see Ay Bendito by Romeo Santos analyzed. It has an interesting beat change that I think is actually Flamenco right before the song ends

Actually pretty good tutorial, Would be great to see the same video with visual counts all the time and dancers dancing along this song to see what moves they perform. But I kind feel like in order to learn listen to Bachata music and dance you just need to learn all the songs :D seems impossible to have good timing if you first time hear the song and dance on rhythm So how dance when you say break, or pause, or change? What does it mean? What happens with dance moves?

Very interesting video. I like how you mentioned when the music starts to fade on the 4th "eight count" a break is usually coming. However, how can you tell when the break is going to occur on the 5th beat of that 4th eight count, or at the end on the 8th beat?

what is a "change"?

In this case is a phrase change. Something different will come in the song... different from the phrase before (usually after 4x8 counts)
