Sure, he'd get a sense of Independence if he lived separately from mom and dad but some people choose to live at home for many reasons, such as financial problems. I think the problem here is that his mom never really gave him space and the chance to do things on his own as be grew up. I think she was and still is very attached to him and can't let him go and do his own thing. I feel that the way she expressed to him why he should go after Hannah Ann influenced how be really felt. She just wants him to be with a woman she likes, even though it may not be the right fit for him. Really, what she should have done was taken a step back and encouraged Peter to make his own choice. I do however think it's good for a parent to give guidance. Such as when she was open with him about the fact that him and Madison would face challenges as a couple due to the fact that they have so many differences. Bottom line is that I think Peter needs to let Madison go. If your partner is religious and you are not, it's gonna be a long tough road.
