Before traveling to Australia, Madison told Bachelor Peter Weber that it would be very hard for her if he sleeps with the other women. (She's saving herself for marriage.) It's difficult for him to know how strict her standards were because she was willing to sign up for a process that comes with a ton intimacy. I'm also a virgin and saving my self for marriage, but I wouldn't have signed up for a process like that in the first place. If I did, I would have been much more clear about things very early, especially if it was a make or break standard of mine for a relationship

A lot of people are saying “well, sexual chemistry matters.” Well, if he truly loves someone, the sexual chemistry will happen, whether it’s right away or eventually Having sex with all the women, knowing that only one will walk away with you, is like test driving cars before you buy it. In the first several seasons of The Bachelor, the fantasy suite was optional, and many bachelors/bachelorettes did not opt for it. Mattie is absolutely right to stand up for her standards and for the integrity of the kind of relationship she is waiting for. Peter just showed her his true colors. He did not have to sleep with the other women, but he chose to.

I do think that Colton refused fantasy suites with his other two because he wanted to fight for Cass and his relationship meant enough to go after what he believed was his true love. It’s still optional, they just always use it. I think even if they don’t want to hook up they’d be dumb not to use it because it’s the only true alone time they get the whole season without any cameras or microphones. You can be honest and actually talk without worrying about it being on TV.

@@Mark-sy2bx it’s not so much to do with morality in this situation, it’s more so about her sticking to her individual core values & beliefs which are authentic and genuine to her true self. In hindsight we know that Maddison wasn’t just all talk but she also walked her walk and stayed true to herself and didn’t put Peter’s own wants, needs, desires and momentarily gratification and pleasure on a pedestal while casting her own true authentic self below Peter. To me, that shows how much she truly loved Peter and wanted their relationship to be a healthy working secure relationship instead of dysfunctional one filled with resentment and unhealthy power dynamics where one person is sole giver while the other partner is the sole taker and everything being constantly about them and their wants and their needs. In the majority of dysfunctional and unbalanced relationships most often it’s the women who are the givers and men who are the takers. Society expects for women to serve others and praises them for unconditional love and availability for tending to others without complaining. The praise that society gives to compliant selfless women who are always at everyone else becking call is the use of language and labels that women get who speak up and demand to put themselves first or to have their husband put their needs first and his own second. When this happens it’s very common for the female to get called “crazy” “dramatic” or that she’s “overreacting” or she’s “on. Her period or is PMSing as if her putting her self ahead of others is somehow a biologic temporary symptom and unusual and therefore something must be wrong with her or different at that time. Maddison didn’t abandon herself, she stayed true to herself and didn’t sacrifice how she felt and what she needed from pilot Pete, she even had enough courage to vocalize her wants and needs and beliefs on national TV, that takes guts honestly. She didn’t try to downplay the natural affect that peter’s choices had on her heart, emotions and personal self concept and how she it conflicted with how she defined and understood who she is as an individual person through values and beliefs. She stayed true to herself, and honestly, it’s so awesome to see women and girls do that it makes me so happy for them because there’s no worse feeling than the feelings that come with knowing you wavered you’re moral values beliefs and etc

She's not a bad person for wanting someone who is willing to wait and he's not a bad person for wanting to explore chemistry/connections through physical intimacy. They just have some different needs and that's okay! They should have had this conversation early on in the process, she did herself a bit of a disservice by not making that standard known before she really starting falling for him.

Good observations and comments. The conversation and discussion should have happened earlier on, prior to her going down to Australia, a mistake on both their parts. Perhaps better "pre-screening" and matching up w/ other people is necessary. Seems like a potential better match for similar like-minded guys. Hopefully, she finds a better match with a like-minded man, willing to wait for the right match, etc. to be engaged, etc. I'm sure that Dr. Laura S. would have A LOT to say about such situations.

Listen Peter didn’t really care about Madison’s feelings. He knew she was against him being intimate with other women yet he went ahead and slept with them knowing it would hurt her. What people don't understand, that at this time in the process, he knows who will choose for the ring. He knew it would be Madison,and Madison knew it would be her. Yet, he picked sleeping with both women, instead of wanting a life time of happiness with Madison, and got caught, thinking he could talk his way out of his. She was never the same person again, and she struggled fighting for the love that she still felt, by pushing forward, in spite. After meeting the parents, it was done.

Luke P is the same thing as Maddie. but all the comments here are supportive of maddie, yet on Luke P’s video they say “why is he on this show if he wants to be abstinent” and none of that to Maddie. they also supported Hannah brown for sleeping around saying she can do what she wants to find “sexual compatibility” but then call Peter childish for doing the same thing

Then she should have gone home right here and now. What irked me about her was how she seemed to make the show about herself. She seemed extremely self-righteous. It’s called the bachelor. It’s Peter’s journey and that’s why barb accosted Madi. Peter has to navigate his feelings for the other 2 women and also had to cradle their feelings. She wasn’t empathetic towards that position he was in. That said I’d hate to be engaged to someone who was screwing other women the week before he proposed to me, which is why I would never sign up for the bachelor because there’s a huge risk of that happening. Her coming back to the rose ceremony and giving him a stank attitude when he asked if she will accept his rose was just beyond annoying to watch. Like, go home Madi. Peter crossed a boundary you had set? Then leave him. It’s as simple as that. I didn’t like how she went on to meet his family and was acting cold. No one forced her to stay, she should have just left in this scene and I would have been on her side.

I was 19 when this aired and I admired everything Madi stood for when this episode ended. But everything she did afterwards was wrong. She didn't need to be cold to him and his family afterwards. By sticking around after the revelation, she technically let her own standards falter, all in the name of 'trying to make it work for love'. It was all BS and after that moment, I knew she was no less disingenuous as the other women there who had ulterior motives. She's gained fame and created a Christian platform now - even though some of the things she does with that platform is questionable, but I digress. Hopefully you get where I'm coming from.
